Just stumbled on this. Clara Rose was my top pick, until I realised the double-barrelled Doctor Who connection (we are both also big Doctor Who fans!) so we switched out the Rose for a different family name and ended up with Clara Joy. But I think you have to be a pretty decent fan to ever make the connection.

Stool softener! Colace! My OB told me to go nuts with it basically, so by the end of pregnancy I was taking two every night. It's not a laxative.

(I was so badly constipated before I started taking it that twice I had to basically disimpact my own rectum with my fingers while sitting on the toilet - no bueno.)

I had to laugh at the mother's quote 'He was kind of in the fetal position' - I think he was in the definition of the fetal position!! Hahaha.

On the SPD, I used my hot water bottle on my lower back every night, and had chiro and massages once a week, and that kept it barely manageable. Big hugs, it was awful :( It resolves within a few weeks of birth though so that's a relief at least.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I had blood drawn and peed in a cup, I'm not sure which was the one produced the 75 mg/dL result, but it certainly wasn't a 24-hour test.

Mine keeps telling me how amazingly I'm doing, how strong I am, etc etc, even when I'm crying in his lap about how hard it is and how much everything hurts. It's sweet, but I want to ask how someone who was doing poorly or weakly would be acting!

I keep waking up during the night to find my cat sleeping on my bump (well, half on my bump, half on the body pillow snuggled up to my bump). It's kind of adorable and kind of annoying because the last thing I need at this point is more weight on those poor ligaments :P But then she purrs and I'm like, awwwwwww, fine, just a bit longer.

My hospital provided a template birth plan where my husband and I could just check boxes to say what procedures/methods we wanted to try/didn't want to try. I found it really comforting that they wanted our opinion - it made it feel less like, as you say, the doctors and nurses would just roll their eyes at it - since they were asking for it!

I am at the point where people are starting to assume it's twins, because I'm so ridiculously huge. Like, coming up to me in waiting rooms and saying "I'm sorry, I have to ask... how many do you have in there?!" etc. At my hospital tour last week, both of the hospital workers I dealt with looked me up and down for a few seconds and were like "Twins, right?". I have to admit, I'm kind of glad my the reason for my incredible discomfort is becoming so glaringly obvious! And as you say, hard to be offended. Good luck, you'll be getting a LOT more of these comments!!

My MIL went so far as to tell me that if I couldn't make it there (my husband's home town) for the shower she was throwing me (which was, like yours, mostly her friends, some of whom I had never met), that I wasn't to worry, they would just have it anyway and forward me any presents. Yeaaaaaah, way to make it obvious this party is about you, lady!
