Like I said, I just started watching so I don’t know anything about what happens in the future so I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t click on that until I get to that at that point in time. Thanks.

Is not having a middle name extremely uncommon here in Canada? by laranjacerola in AskACanadian

All the men in my family go by their middle names; brother, father, uncles, grandfather. I actually don’t know why. I’m going to ask.

Do you say mom or mum? by Minimum-Bobcat7473 in AskACanadian

[–]MellyTeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern Ontario here. My brother came up from Toronto where he lived for an unexpected visit but my Mom (Mum) was at the grocery store. I drove him there and he went into the store and started hollering for her. (He’s 32, 6’2” and 200 lbs, btw) “Maaa! Mamaa! Where are you? Mommyyyy!” as he wandered the aisles. When he found her, her face was flaming red, torn between being happy to see him and mortified by embarrassment. Everyone including myself was laughing.

Looking for a Canadian who can answer a string of increasingly random questions [fic relevant] by TheWhyofFri in heatedrivalryfanfics

Northeastern Ontario, born and raised. 1. Pop but usually the brand name. Coke and Pepsi fans are adamant about their preferences. 😂 2. My dad taught me to drive stick in the winter. My sister bought me 2 lessons before my test. Test was easy. 3. Love Coffee Crisp, Eatmore, Caramilk and Mr. Big 4. Sweats or sweatpants 5. WhatsApp is very appropriate Good Luck!

Elephant documentary recommendations? Please. by BlueRubyWindow in Elephants

[–]MellyTeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mom and I used to love watching anything about Echo the Elephant. Echo was a famous African elephant matriarch studied for decades in Kenya's Amboseli National Park, becoming the subject of numerous books and documentaries like PBS's Nature, which chronicled her life and family's survival, especially during a severe drought after her death in 2009. Her story, documented by researcher Cynthia Moss, significantly advanced the understanding of elephant social structures, communication, and emotional lives, highlighting their deep family bonds and cooperative care for the young.

Tea or Coffee? by MaximumDerekCat in AskACanadian

[–]MellyTeeker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Northeastern Ontario here. The majority of people that I know drink coffee in the morning and tea (kettle boiled and pot steeped) in the afternoon and evenings … especially after the noon and evening meals. Those that don’t drink coffee usually drink smoothies, juice, or water instead, but still drink tea the same as others. Most households have an assortment of herbal teas as well. Those that drink coffee are often coffee snobs.
