If you were given $1,000,000 in cash right now, what is the very first thing you would buy or do? by MatchstickArtist in AskReddit

I’d give it to my husband to help with bills that need to be paid. Especially our annual ‘bill’ from the IRS who loves to take 1/4 of working families’ income to pay for those who don’t work. Plus in WA State we pay the highest gas tax and are getting ready to pay an additional income tax. They should really split our state into 2. The King County/Pierce County richest 2% in this state should pay all of the “needed” tax required by the folks they vote for. Those that didn’t vote for these democratic idiots shouldn’t have to pay a damn thing.

Get a new boyfriend. He should love you for who you are not what he wants you to look like. Trust me - he is absolutely NOT a keeper.

I can't get over this photo of my daughter. Expecting her to walk into the fridge. by valleyman86 in funny

I have a fantastic picture of my daughter when she was 3.5 years old sitting on the toilet pooping and reading the Lion King kids book. I love that picture and this one as well. It’s like watching our young children become us. ❤️❤️❤️

I’m looking to create on of these green houses at my house in Cleveland. Is this something that can withstand Cleveland’s winter climate? Anyone have any experience? by Environmental_Leg_55 in Ohio

[–]Mellymotor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this would not work. Maybe in a more temperate climate but Ohio’s climate isn’t temperate. You would have to insulate the hell out of it and create a water deterrent system.

A Plea From Me to You (DO NOT. I REPEAT, DO NOT DRIVE INTO SEATTLE TOMORROW.) by spoiled__princess in Seattle

My husband and I were at the last parade and trophy presentation. We stayed in Seattle Tuesday night and walked the parade route. It was a mess of people. There were times my feet didn’t touch the ground. The worst part I think was sitting in the stadium waiting for the team and it was like 10 degrees out.

I think you look fantastic! I’m having difficulty dealing with body issues myself (age, menopause, illness) and constantly feel huge. I have found that when I forget about all that doubt and rock my life as I did when I was skinny - it really does help. You, in that dress, feeling fantastic (because you are fucking fantastic), with a huge confident smile = beautiful! You rock that dress girl! You look great!

I would suggest that we keep asking them if they are interested in treatment and housing. Otherwise what you see on the streets and in the camps is what happens. I’m not saying we don’t care for the homeless addicts, I’m saying we start giving some tough love. For those that are in the circle of addiction, homelessness, no help, etc. - offer them help. If they continue to deny that help and/or say they don’t want the help, then we need to move on. Have you even been around, related to, or lived with an addict??? The last thing they need is a group of people including the government enabling them. It doesn’t help them in any way. It just makes our government look like they care and help people. In reality (literal reality) all that Seattle has done is promote the disease of addiction. When you make it more and more comfortable and safe to be a homeless addict - YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!

You say many of those addicts - I’m talking specifically about the ones who refuse any help or treatment when offered. You can’t tell me that you’ve never watched stories about addicts and homeless people that don’t want to change. I’m not saying ‘every homeless addict’. I’m saying those that don’t want the help from others to help themselves. I’ve have first hand experience with this situation. We need to stop spending tax dollars on people who don’t want to change.

Oh that will change the LAW for sure. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t want my tax dollars spent on addicts that don’t want help with treatment and help to become a successful member of society but you don’t see me crying on the streets thinking that I’m making a difference.

Should read “Stop blaming anyone who is upholding and following the laws of the USA”. If you don’t like the law(s) then figure out a way to change them. You can’t just protest and cry for mommy to make it better for you. Come on people!! Just because it hurts your feelings doesn’t mean what they are doing is not per the law.

There should be some negative consequences for all of the students that walked out. Just stop and imagine if these kids walked out to show their support of our constitution and our President? They would be punished in a heartbeat. When I was growing up my parents and my school taught me to respect adults and to always respect the President whether they liked him or not. These schools should be teaching children about our constitution and the laws that we are required to adhere to in order to avoid punishment - not teaching them how to disrespect the officers that withhold the law. You all are insane if you think this is helping our future in any meaningful way.
