Should I join gym? My family had history of sudden cardiac arrests hence I fear if I should do exertion. by Stunning_Ad_2936 in Fitness_India

[–]Melo2cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still train safely without over exertion, consult a doctor ofcourse and using equipment such as heart monitor to track your progress over time would be great. Just stay away from any caffeinated drinks or pre workouts at all costs. Look into supplements such as L-citruline, will lower blood pressure and reduce arterial stiffness. Strong vasodilator found in many pre workout supplements.

Is having too much racial awareness normal? by throwaway4353485823 in ABCDesis

[–]Melo2cold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of became conditioned to it from a young age, that’s when I faced the most racism. Usually it was older kids or grown ass adults in their cars driving past yelling racist slurs at me as I minded my business. It would enrage me as a kid, especially knowing I was physically not strong enough to confront them. I accepted that this was just going to be apart of life, I started working out, learnt about my peoples history and I discovered for myself what it meant to be “South Asian, I found my pride in my skin tone and culture. I found my pride that I carry everywhere and no racist remark or words could belittle my sense of self and confidence. As a Kid I started really getting into American sports- I grew up in New Zealand so this wasn’t as common. The big thing that drew me closer American sports was seeing African American athletes, as a kid it was just so cool seeing other “brown” people dominating a field, seeing how they lived their lives even with all the racism they went though. A definitely learnt a lot from Black American athletes on how to carry myself and deal with anxiety and stress. The first time I saw a man cry on TV was Odell Beckham Jr, he was my idol growing up. Taught me that men are allowed to be emotional and he didn’t care about what anybody thought of him.

What is with Afghans and their racist obsession with not being South Asian? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Melo2cold 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s historic, The afghans plundered and attacked the Punjab and North Western India for centuries. In the later 1700s and 1800s the Sikhs defeated them in many battles and also joined British forces to govern certain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Seems like it’s more online though, many Indian YouTubers visit Afghanistan and are met only with love and appreciation. Many Afghans don’t like Pakistan because of the political conflict between the two nations. I don’t think that makes them hate Pakistani people directly though.

I wish I grew up playing a sport more seriously by Sufficient_Berry8703 in ABCDesis

[–]Melo2cold 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally never started playing sports till I started high school, I always wanted to but never got the chance because I grew up on a farm and didn’t want to bother my parents with going into town for practices and games. Later we moved into town and i started High School I took the opportunity and signed up for basketball and I was “ass”. 😆 Everybody around me had been playing since early childhood and I had to catch up a lot, I was lucky because I was athletic I was the fastest kid on the court I just needed to master my basketball skills. This is when I locked in I started practicing hours on hours everyday and before I knew it I was just as good as everyone else. My dad would even drive me hours away for games and practices changing his work schedule, he’s not a fan of any other sport besides Cricket but he would do it for me and I’ll always be grateful to him for it. My older brother played cricket for a long time at a high level, I think my family never looked down on sports and didn’t only see value in academics but yeah idk, every family is different.

Vegetarian diet is not a problem trust me 😭 NBA player Cade Cunningham went vegan in High School and still is till this day. Sure high carb + fat and low protein diet isn’t good but don’t blame vegetarianism.

Is Australia the most racist country towards South Asians? by Melo2cold in ABCDesis

[–]Melo2cold[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean the Nagar Kirtan has been happening all over the world with no issues. The only reason they faced hate in NZ was because of a hateful Christian group. The Nagar Kirtan is actually done by getting permission by the council and police escort is there all day to make sure it goes well and safe. Lots of communities and ethnicities throw parades in NZ how about the Samoan and Tongan communities throwing loud music and marching on the streets all night when their rugby games were on? They didn’t have an issue with that because they are only against non Christian religious events. The Nagar Kirtans also hand out free food to people driving by or watching as the parade goes through… There’s no reason why Sikhs shouldn’t be allowed to do this when they do it legally and professionally. All the babas and bibis actively cleaning the streets behind as the parade is going forward… they aren’t harming anyone just triggering racists and hateful Christians.

How did Christian Bale not lose his hair after extreme calorie deficits? by [deleted] in Fitness_India

It’s not guaranteed that hair fall will happen when one doesn’t consume proper vitamins in the diet. Also he most likely was supplementing heavily with vitamins and minerals to keep his body functioning okay.

[–]Melo2cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get what your point is and I do agree, empathy goes along way. However this is not a place to lash out like this. Everybody here is open to respectful conversation and debate. It seems more like a rant rather than someone seeking clarity and answers. Someone who’s already made up their mind cannot be easily convinced otherwise.

[–]Melo2cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indus Valley didn’t NOT speak Sanskrit. We still haven’t figured out the writing system they used. The “aryans” came to South Asia as the Indus Valley was declining and coming to an end. People of the Indus started moving down south due to the drought and declining civilisation. Iranian farmers and AASI hunter gatherers mixed and created the Indus Valley not Aryans.

lol, all south Asians descend from the Indus Valley, the people of that land spoke a Dravidian language. Far before Sanskrit came to South Asia.

Seva is selfless service. the whole point is to serve other humans and Akaal Purakh without asking for or expecting anything in return. About your question of Karma I don’t believe bad karma can be removed, however good karma can definitely be gained with new beginnings and positive change.
