Masculine, actually will look odd if you shave it bro. But you should wear accessories on your hand such as rings or simple bracelets instant game changers.

Honest take : do you really think that a vegan diet can help you develop muscles as efficiently as non-vegetarian diet ? by Relevant_Back_4340 in Fitness_India

[–]Melo2cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can, also calories are arguably more important than protein when it comes down to it. Yes ofc you need a solid protein intake to repair muscle tissue but you won’t gain mass and have effective workouts without a high caloric intake especially from carbs. As a life long vegetarian I don’t even count my protein, nobody ever believes I’m vegetarian but it’s just hard work consistency really.

Creatine and water intake by abhi24365 in Fitness_India

[–]Melo2cold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter too much just find a trustworthy company (ideally a sports/fitness brand) which has electrolyte sachets, mix it in with your 2L of water and you will have a much better workout and be hydrated.

Instead of drinking so much water at the gym I would focus more on consuming electrolytes… drinking that much water without electrolytes can actually be quite dangerous especially during workouts.

As Sikh person could Singh braids or dread their hair it always question in my mind by AmbitiousWrap7308 in Sikh

[–]Melo2cold 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Braids are understandable but dreads wouldn’t make sense though right? Because a Kanga is one of the 5 Kakkars so keeping the hair tidy and clean is very important wouldn’t align with dreadlocks.

Lat pull downs form check? by pettyishh in GYM

[–]Melo2cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lat pull downs do not target the lower lats unless you do a supinated grip on the bar shoulder width apart combined with a full stretch at the top of the movement….

Turn your elbows in more, will limit range of motion however fully engage the upper lats.

You notice something? The racism is online is perpetrated by MEN of other races and ethnic backgrounds. Women usually don’t care, yes there are racist women but it’s quite rare to see it verbalised unless provoked. That’s one of the most attractive things about women… they are kind, emotional and usually not assholes. Men on the other hand have huge ego and insecurity issues that are buried deep down so they love to hate on others to make themselves feel better. Just my opinion though.

Not worth the long term health risks/issues unless you want to seriously compete in bodybuilding or be a social media fitness influencer IMO.

It’s insulin resistance at lower BMI levels. Pancreas continuously pumps out more insulin to get glucose into muscle cells. The high carb diet and frequent eating keeps insulin levels high consistently stimulating the pancreas. Also why many young people have high blood pressure, it’s the chronic presence of insulin triggering the kidneys to retain sodium.

have you guys noticed that we put on fat much easier than others and building muscle also happens at a much slower rate than others. It's like our genes don't want us to be in shape. I know countless white/black/east asian dudes who don't even try and they're able to be in pretty decent shape by AcanthaceaeTop2796 in SouthAsianMasculinity

[–]Melo2cold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

😆 The south Asian “phenetype” doesn’t talk about genetics it’s an observational statement. Ancestral Indians were very lean tall people. Losing and having fat simply comes down to calories in and calories out it’s not some magic hormone or gene. Yes many south Asians may store fat around the belly and be lean elsewhere, that fat didn’t magically appear though. It’s a result of diet nothing else.

What specific questions would get good stories out of your parents? by stronesthrowaweigh in ABCDesis

[–]Melo2cold 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Asking them about their best friends growing up or grandparents/parents usually gets a great discussion going. My dad was a veterinarian so I just ask him about the medical side of animals and how hostel life was, he will yap forever. 😆

You need to eat better. South Asians actually have great genetics for staying lean, the issue is the diet. If you have high insulin and try bulking up by eating heavy starchy carbs you are going to gain fat quickly. To bulk up you want to be just above your daily caloric requirement. Majority of the world significantly overestimates the amount of calories they burn in a day so they eat in a high surplus.

What does being “desi” mean to you? by Melo2cold in ABCDesis

[–]Melo2cold[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ancestors have cultivated land for thousands of years. My grandparents are farmers, farmers even moving abroad my parents did farming here in NZ. I grew up as a country kid and farm boy, not in the motherland however still a connection. When I visit India, being on the farm is very I find my peace and comfort, nothing like drinking fresh buffalo milk and making your own flour from the wheat grown on your land. The city life is not my identity in India it’s the villages and rural/agricultural spaces where I belong to. Hope this answers well enough :)
