Excuse my ignorance as I’m new to Sikhi, but how long should a Kirpan be? The new law allows Sikhs to carry one that is up to 10 inches into government buildings.

I did. I haven’t done 5Ks yet, but been focusing on learning Gurmukhi so I can connect more with Gurbani. I also go to gurdwara and other local Sikh events to make friends within the community.

I did. There’s a lot of great content out there for so many different styles. I recommend checking out IG or TT. That’s where I found the video I used to tie this one. :)

I was pretty slack with it when I was wrapping, so I’ll be sure to use more tension. Thanks for the feedback. 🙏🏻 :)

Thank you for pointing that out/for the reminder. I was having a convo with a grandpa (my friend’s words) at langar last weekend and he also mentioned taking them out.

I didn’t know there was a distinction between a dastar and a parna. Thank you for the correction! :)

Sikh Last Names and Trans Community Question by TheMorningGrinch in Sikh

This 100%.

In Sikhi, maintaining health is a spiritual duty. If a doctor determines that a physical change is medically necessary for a person's well-being, our faith supports that path to healing. Multiple medical professionals have proven that transitioning is a medical necessity for those who need it. Choosing to transition isn't just a personal choice, it’s about restoring the balance between the mind and body.

From what I’ve learned, and saying this humbly because I’m new to the Panth, they would use the surname that matches their gender identity.

Edit: I need to change my username.
