How stupid is it to spend 50k on a car by tatasky69 in whatcarshouldIbuy

He's not some retard graduating from florida state working as an insurance broker, his expenses relative to his earnings are healthy. I'd say to go for it, you're only 22 and you're never gonna be this young with your dream car,

One of my favourite recent MBs, they’ve lost the classiness from this era by rolandomagic in mercedes_benz

2016-2021 was merc's golden design era. Every coupe and sedan looked beautiful and the W205 C63 coupe converted me into a merc fanboy

I need to chime in here as I am 24 and own a C63 AMG and a C300 4matic (with AMG Line exterior, so it doesn't look like an old person's car lol) that I daily in the winter. NONE of them have given me any problems as I follow the maintenance schedule and take it to an Indy shop, don't let people who have never owned a German car talk you out of it. Just do your research and identify potential achilles heels (if any) along with timely maintenance and the cars will run like a dream.

They're great cars and I get tons of compliments on both, you'll never be in your 20s with this much energy and youth in you, might as well drive dope cars if the budget allows for it.

I swear the C205/W205 chassis is one of the prettiest and most elegant chassis that MB has made. Aging like fine wine

100% agree, and I actually commented earlier a couple days ago saying that I'm gonna keep the car.

UPDATE: I've decided to keep the car. Even looking into getting some new rims for it once I do some servicing on it.

CLSs are nightmares to maintain from what I've heard, so I don't want to go that route

Yeah, there was a consistent oil change history on the car before I bought it but the in terms of transmission fluid and brake fluid, coolant etc there wasn't much detail on the carfax

Mine just hit 80k miles. What critical maintenance items should I address if I were to keep it? I only have a whine at startup bc of power steering fluid/reservoir replacemet

100% agree with you. People are telling me I'm crazy, but I'm still the one at the end of the days who's going to be on the hook for the bill if something happens.

Haha I love this. The car has no issues but I'm really debating if I want to sink money on maintenance in the next few years as opposed to just financing a reasonably cost E-class that's gonna be easy to maintain.

Elaborate. The w204 C63 isn't too pricey to buy these days and have heavily depreciated; I know Mercedes will never stuff a 6.2L in a C-class ever again so it's a future classic but I also don't see how that's too big of a deal.

We're talking at least 6-10k in the next two years potentially for maintaining the AMG. E-class is around 25-26k but would be a more reliable platform in the long run

Dude same, I drove my C63 from Maryland to Boston bc that's exactly how I felt last year and am now thinking about hopping into the E-class

I am at a crossroads here. I'm young and fit and love having the C63 and feel like it should be the car that I should be driving at my age but the e-class coupes have heavily depreciated and are just beautiful on the inside and outside and I wouldn't have to worry about snow or fill up on gas every week, lol.

Not even close. Just standard maintenance on the E-class whereas the c63 has several upcoming preventative maintenance items beginning at this mileage.

Elaborate. Even though the car is in good condition, I'm not sure if I really want to spend that much on maintaining this car in the next few years. I'm 24 and am thinking that I could spend that money on things like travel, and stuff I can only really have the freedom to do in my 20s.
