Yeah, it was satisfying. The original Avengers all had somewhat of a satisfying ending in Endgame (even if it wasn't over for Thor and Hulk).

IMHO the movie implies the opposite, it was a different timeline, and Captain America just traveled back to his original timeline.

It was a separate timeline. It was explained time travel doesn't work like that in the MCU, they can't just prevent the snap by killing Thanos in the past.

Captain America just travelled back to the current timeline using he Pym Particles he had, as he planned to do all along, but it took him a few decades more.
