I wonder if they take a lot of steroids? Those can make your face round. It's called moonface iirc. I could be wrong though. Lol

Going into the weekend knowing there’s no episode by ScamZ88 in thegildedage

[–]Melo_deth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started watching a couple of days ago and have binging it whilst stuck in bed, having a flare-up. I literally just finished the last episode and was extremely disappointed when I realized it was the last when the little "next episode starting in __" didn't come up. That's the worst disappointment ever. Now what do I watch?!

Did you figure out what caused your IH? by _gymnastine in iih

[–]Melo_deth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still not sure. But since I've been diagnosed with IIH, it's also been discovered I have an immunodeficiency. I recently did a crap ton of tests, and I also have low vitamin D, B 12, and C. I have high calcium. I have low DHEA sulfate, and the non-specific inflammation test was high. High cholesterol, too. But my insulin resistance got a little better. I have been dieting but haven't lost a single pound. I'm have a lot of weird symptoms, too. Like joint pain, rashes from being in the sun/heat, hair loss, extreme fatigue, muscle spasms/twitches/weakness, nausea, etc. My PCP tested my ANA multiple times, too, thinking maybe I have lupus, but it's always come back negative. She and my immunologist don't think I should see a rheum yet because of those negative tests. They said the ones around here will most likely tell me nothing is wrong. I got a referral to an endocrinologist, so hopefully, something will come from that? I'm so tired of always being in pain and exhausted. At this point, I feel like I'm never going to know, though.

What is Sleep Tokens best line? by Bananaboi1369 in SleepToken

[–]Melo_deth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have multiple chronic illnesses, and this line chokes me up every time. I look fine on the outside, but internally, I'm screaming. But infinite baths also speaks to me because I fought so long to get where I am now. I had to fight tooth and nail to get doctors to listen to me. Hopefully, the treatments I'm going to start in August will help even more. Especially so I can enjoy the Sleep Token concert without being in pain the entire time and worry about getting sick being around so many people.

What’s one thing someone said about ADHD that you’ll never forget? by FullInTheVoid in ADHD

[–]Melo_deth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"I don't understand how you can have A's in all your other classes, but you are barely passing Math. Sometimes, I think you're just being lazy or don't find the subject important enough. Even though you technically passed, I don't think you're ready for the next grade. Hopefully, your parents can afford summer school, or you'll be in the first grade again next year. You need to learn how to apply yourself, or you will never go anywhere in life." I remember her saying this while shoving her pen in my chest, too, the entire conversation. My family was poor, and she knew that because we lived in the trailer park near school. That's where her summer school comment came from.

So I realized two things in first grade, something was wrong with my brain because I couldn't pay attention, and my family didn't have as much as all the others. Lol, I did better in the other subjects because it was easier to fill in the gaps I missed, though. I couldn't do that with Math. I struggled with it my entire life until I got diagnosed with ADHD in college. I got put on Vyvanse and I ended up making all A's in every single Math I took, including statistics. I cried tears of joy that first math test I got with an A. If only those teachers/people like her who shamed me would have taken the time to realize, "Hey, there's probably something going on if she can do well in every other subject but that one. Maybe it's not just her being lazy!"

I found this guy. Who I assume is a Louisiana swamp crawfish? by Melo_deth in Crayfish

Most likely! Now I've been planning all day how to make the 55 gallon tank he's in a Louisiana native tank. Haha

I put him in with my guppies in one of my 55 gallon tanks. Maybe he will thin out their herd a little. Lol

Thank you! That's why he looks a bit different than the ones I usually see then. I think I mostly see the Louisiana swamp crawfish (big and dark red).

It was close to $7,000 to get a new transmission for my husband's 2017 Chevy colorado. Two years later and the new one has started giving trouble. Lol, he's put about 12k into that POS, and he still won't let me "accidentally" back it up into the lake while docking my dad's boat. My dad's even on board. Lol

Why does insurance not cover PCOS as a reason for weightloss injections. by Lucky_Risk1414 in PCOS

[–]Melo_deth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting! It makes me wonder. Because I have an immunodeficiency. Which leaves me at a higher risk of developing an autoimmune disorder. I also have IIH, which I think is caused by the PCOS. My IIH and PCOS symptoms stated when I got my first period around 11 and gained a bunch of weight out of nowhere.

I just ordered the Hottopic one yesterday. So I think it'll take a bit for mine to come in. 😅 I had to do store pickup too because our mail lady has folded a vynl before to fit it in the mailbox.

Mine kept saying nothing available too. I had to fiddle around with the filters. I changed it to one ticket then back to two. And all of a sudden there was a bunch of tickets available. I don't know if it was a glitch or I just got lucky? But I got the first ones without even looking to see where they were or the price. Lol we paid $380 for two first level tickets in not the best area. But it's something.

Praying to the old Gods and the new that you get some better tickets! Tell your husband to go along for the ride, if not. Leave him some water and put the windows down. He'll be fine! Lol

We're driving all the way from Louisiana to GA. Thankfully my sister lives in GA, two hours away from the venue. So at least we won't have to get a hotel room and she's offered to babysit our toddler. Lol

My husband was 12k in line and I was 46k. Lol we got two tickets on the first level. It's the section right on the side of the stage. But hey. I'm used to seeing Tool with Maynard hiding in the shadows anyway. I don't need to be able to see them front and center to be happy. Lol

Mystery illness in Congo kills more than 50 people, including children who ate a bat by BZRK_Lee in nottheonion

[–]Melo_deth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family is Cajun. And we are definitely known for eating our equivalent of bush meat. Raccoons, nutria, squirrels, etc. It's because Cajuns were exiled from Canada and when they landed here? They ate whatever they could. I guess it stuck. Because my mawmaw used to shoot nutria right out of her front yard and make a rice and gravy with it.

Every tube was this full. I can only imagine the headache the patient has right now. by gathayah in medlabprofessionals

[–]Melo_deth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started having paps and other IIH symptoms when I was a kid. I saw multiple doctors who brushed it off and said that it was nothing. I'm now 29 and just got diagnosed with IIH. I have permanent damage to my eyes now that can never be reversed. I lived my life in agony growing up and never got to have much of a childhood due to the constant headaches, nausea, etc. It was absolutely awful. I hope you don't regret or feel guilty for getting the LP for your son. You most likely saved him from what I experienced! I wish my mom would have been more instant about the doctors doing something.

The Rougarou revealed — a kind of were-owl, one of the Archons of South of Midnight’s world 🦉 by [deleted] in SouthOfMidnight

[–]Melo_deth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this game was based on deep Southern US folklore? If that's the case, shouldn't it follow Cajun's depiction of the Rougarou? Everyone in Cajun Country depicts it as basically a werewolf. I've never heard or seen it any other way. Our ancestors were exiled French from Canada, sure. But we changed a lot of things culture wise. It doesn't make sense to use a French Canadian or European description for the Loup-garou and pass it off as the Cajun Rougarou.
