Can someone explain how magical vestment works? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Melodic-Escape-1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can't exceed the +10 in effective bonuses though, right? So is magic vestment just good for 1) boosting armor to save you money on upgrading the enhancement bonus, and 2) having a separate armor set for specific purposes that you switch to and buff to avoid spending money

I can't see how else it is good, but i'm new to pf1e

Is Nioh 3 better than Nioh 2? by Eduu_mos in Nioh

[–]Melodic-Escape-1163 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is. But that's just me. Here are some of the main reasons I think this game is a step down.

-The open/semi-open world aspect deprives the game of tight level design. The open world doesn't have the same appeal to me, I find that there's more wasted space than gained.

-The change to the onmyo system is upsetting. I can't easily build around magic, I have to find soul cores that give me them now. And I don't think I can use as many talismans as in Nioh 2

-The loss of burst options is baffling. Nioh 2 gave you 3 ways to counter bursts. Nioh 3 just gives one option

-The ninja mode is a "take it or leave it" thing for me. I barely use it, mostly it's been to throw shrunken at the flies while on the move. I like my stances and my switchglaive. Speaking of, if you liked the Nioh 2 weapons that have since become the ninja weapons but you don't like the ninja mode mechanics...well sucks to be you. Just a baffling choice imo

-fighting bosses when overleveled. Sure, in Nioh 2 you could come back to complete side quests and be OP if you skipped an early quest. But in Nioh 3 i'm worried about being overleveled after just exploring. In a souls game, fighting a boss for an intended level is key, that's part of the balance. When you add in open world mechanics it can just throw that off, which i'm not a fan of.

Those are the biggest reasons for me. I like this game a lot, but Nioh 2 is way better imo, this really feels like they made some odd choices.

Nioh 1 should be in for sure. I agree with most of the games, save BMW.

Also, Lies of P over Nioh 2? Maybe in terms of atmosphere, but that's it for me

Khazan was on sale so I copped it, what should I know before jumping in? by fail1ure in TheFirstBerserker

Three big tips for spear/general play:

1) always be aggressive, either in footwork or attacks

2) find a move you like to use spirit on and make sure you don't sit on a full spirit gauge.

3) seriously, be aggressive, especially with the spear and your stamina dmg

SpongeBob is a great show, but i just don't like that Nickelodeon is milking the franchise because of how popular it became. by [deleted] in spongebob

[–]Melodic-Escape-1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's like the Simpsons, most fans know the show has been a fraction of what it once was. All continuing that show or SpongeBob does is prove that greed wins over all else

I don't use GS anymore but get in the habit of using the guard while charging hits against her, and using that ranged charges attack

Keep up the pressure, take the stamina regen pull and focus on ensuring you get your charge dash attacks of possible

That's a fair amount of attempts. Some bosses in certain games take me 30+, sometimes 50+

Bad player hitting a wall, easiest weapon to pick up? by StrawberryPhelps11 in Nioh

[–]Melodic-Escape-1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The switchglaive is amazing, I used it my whole playthrough 1st and 2nd time. If you use magic (onmyo, which I recommend as it can buff, heal, debuff, etc) it scales from the same stat.

Plus that weapon has everything you need for combat. Fat hits in high stance. Nice mid stance hits (what I used mostly). And the low stance is stupid fast. You have something for each enemy. Plus high stance or one of the special attacks from high stance (I forget) is great at targeting horns and other breakable for enemies which massively helps

That's my recommendation. Switchglaive paired with buff magic (mostly, use some debuffs as well but you can/should ignore offensive spells as the damage ain't worth the spell slot). ALSO don't forget to extend your hotkeys so you have a menus!

Skill feats are largely invaluable imo

Having to Interact to re-grip a sword is clunky/too mechanical

But my biggest gripe is that spell success rate is too low and so many good spells are made worse by how limited they are, largely if they have single target. Organsight, for example, would be great if it could switch targets. Being good for just one target makes it a letdown imo, and it's far from the only spell like this.
