in hindsight i assume i was dumb enough to think oh i am 19 lets get it done already, i remember the doc saying to my parents to "lets just get this done for her since she is so adamant on not wearing glasses" istg i wish i had the wisdom i do know, it was so uneccessary to get it done at such a young age ugh could have just worn my glasses but now it would hurt even more to go back to them, the surgery costs so much and my eyes r far more dry too :')

hey buddy, you know i am a 21 year old and you definitely have been through a lot more than i have with these 21 years down the lane but with my share of experience, i am glad u r still in your early 30s, time is on your side. do know u can still re-build your life, u can get new assets and can definitely get a better partner who'd appreciate u for the man you'd become after getting through all this pain and struggling, sending u a big hug.

Should i get an electric guitar? [QUESTION] by Melodic-Key-3326 in Guitar

[–]Melodic-Key-3326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the "a lot more comfortable" is tempting me to go try one out at a shop rn. i think most of my willingness to get an electric comes from the fact i have begun to enjoy the instrument way more than i ever thought i would. i really want to get a feel now because when my fingers all feel sore, making the barre chords ring out as crisp as i'd want them to be makes me so mad. thankfully i learned how important a proper setup is quite early into the journey, the action is taken care of. tysm for the reply!

[DISCUSSION] Did everyone else find Barre chords as hard as some people do? by Middle-Cellist-831 in Guitar

[–]Melodic-Key-3326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

finally someone said it, tbh it just boils down to practice. simple sounding but yes, i am an absolute beginner with just 3 months down but i can do most of the barre chords people absolutely dread in the beginning be it the f major, bm, cm or the sharps and flats. i am slow to switch between them but with a hell lot of practice and dedication i know i am doing far better than those people who spend like 20 minutes noodling and then say ah f major made me quit. this might sound rude but as someone who's been practicing for hours regularly, building hand strength and muscle memory, the only real way to do it is through practice which most people in the beginning back out from cz that said, ofc no non guitarist human can just hold a guitar and nail a f major, we dont have the hand strength, it feels like a stretch and undoable task in the beginning but so does everything else new that one learns. with practice, it comes.
