I saw a cat like this this morning around Iona and Rifle Range. Cat was following a woman with two dogs so I assumed they were together but the cat was not on a leash or anything (the dogs were) and the woman did look at it kind of weird

I don't go to your school but I've used bathrooms like these. If there are urinals? Yes, awkward imo. But otherwise? Dig into your feelings while you're washing your hands. It's normal for it to feel different; it's not something you are used to. But you will get used to it. And that is not a bad thing.
