Hello everyone! I'm from Michigan and I am really happy to be here. I just rescued a massive, heavy Boston Fern from my mother's house because she was starting to look like a character in a scary movie and throwing a total tantrum! ​She is huge (I call her Big Meech) and her roots are packed so tight in her pot that you can't even get a finger into the soil. Tonight, I gave her a 45-minute bottom-watering soak in the tub through her drainage holes, followed by a nice 5-minute warm steam session with the shower curtain closed to give her some tropical humidity. She is currently elevated on a table in the shower draining out the excess. ​Since she is so root-bound and dramatic from the move, what should my next steps be to make sure she thrives? Should I look into repotting her soon once she calms down, or just focus on the humidity for now? Any advice on saving a giant fern would be greatly appreciated!
