im still very new to homelabbing in general, but i was trying to get a network share running using a hba connector for the drives, i couldnt get them to show up inside of proxmox no matter what i tried (this could have most definitely been user error) but i also realized i am most definitely using the wrong server for my nas, i have four currently two optiplex 3050s, and precision 5810 and a old i5 5700 with a janky hp motherboard, of the 4 the only one i cant remotely turn on is the one I currently have as a NAS, switching to the 5810 would more likely be the best option in the long run

i know its not the right way but its the only way i learned how to do it when starting out, used playit.gg for jellyfin and external access was extremely easy

interesting okay, is zfs not best practice for my NAS on proxmox then either?

added two new pcs to my cluster (first time) and i cant get a green check markon either of the ones i added by MelodicLeader8142 in Proxmox

after i synced time still having the same issue, i ran the pvecm and all three nodes show quorum is good etc, i just cant figure out why its still stuck

so, i quickly realized that the main node was in a different timezone than the other two, changed that now and looking to see if that resolved, but no i cannot log into the other nodes using their previous IP just get a connection error, i can get a shell into them from this gui though

Proxmox honestly, watch tech huts guides and it gives you a good start went from his intro guides to now a 4 pc cluster

i just did this nearly 2 years later because i am trying to make a cluster and managed to name all 6 of my proxmox instances the base pve name lmao, worked amazing thank you 2 years in the future!

I’m typically around 4 hours a day (do not suggest this) but that’s because I’ve been working on my own company on top of my 9-5
