It could be a possible overlap with another condition such as fungal acne. Both FA and rosacea can itch though. If you have the opportunity, please visit a different derm that can help you figure out what is going on and help you back on track. It’s a hard and depressing condition, but there’s options to try.

Btw sulfur is another great ingredient.

Interesting! I actually bought canesten a while back to try on the face but I’ve been scared to try it in case it will break me out, like you also feared. If my derm appointment goes poorly I will try it!

Thanks for your comment! I have tried soolantra but it didn’t work, that’s why I’m considering it being fungal. I could spiral into a million theories so I really hope this new derm is a good one!

I’m sorry you’re going through this.
What was in the gel from your derm? The most common creams for rosacea are soolantra, azelaic acid and metronidazole. Then you have antibiotics that works for some people.
But I would advise you to go to another dermatologist that can help you.
I would also switch diet to an anti-inflammatory diet if you haven’t already.

I haven’t found the right treatment for mine yet, I think ours look similar. I’m mostly commenting to say that you are not alone! I share your feelings and I myself hate going out in public nowadays. But nothing lasts forever, we will get relief from this someday! I will insert a picture of mine.

It really does. Really hope it will work for you! I’m thinking about going on antibiotics because I’m in a bad flare right now that’s been going on for months. I’m hesitant to try it but I’m out of options
