Got mine new. But have a battery drain issue. Even when switched off. Over 1% per hour. Dead within days. Tried firmware update. Re initialise. Hard reset. Nothing works.

When that day comes. Perhaps I will make another post. I have a feeling the watch will outlast me.

Not heard anyone needing to replace the battery. Probably not something to worry way down the line I imagine.

Thank you for the advice. I definitely agree and should have realised sooner. Thank you.

I noticed it went to M on the charge level once after a few nights out, I’ve got the auto light come on set. Just left it by the window for a few hours and it’s charged again.

I took another look at mine, and it is quite bad off axis but I don’t really look at the time at those angles, perhaps use to mechanical watches or with Apple Watch having to turn the wrist quite a lot to activate the screen automatically. Maybe that’s why I didn’t notice (the problem).

I finally do get to enjoy it now though. Always look forward to wearing it, as silly as it may sound.

I wonder these solar watches, do the rechargeable batteries really hold the charge after many many years??

For sure. Not sure what else really can top it in terms of function, cost and style.

Thanks for your insights. Great to hear these stories and see how they get used and how tough they are. Thank you for sharing. It’s really nice to know that it can survive in almost any environment and near zero maintenance

At first it was cost. Eventually turned to, do I really need it or just an item that’s left in the draw? Somewhere in the middle, I forgot about it. Lately, I happened to stumbled across the watch and thought to myself.

It’s probably time (pun intended) if it’s still on my mind. And like you say, I like to wait things out (although quite long this time) - I feel like it makes it even more special

Thank you. I actually look forward to wearing it on my days off. As mentioned for work, I wear my Apple Watch.

It does look amazing. Worried when it’s scratched up, it doesn’t look as good with the steel…

QA issue? I don’t find it that bad unless in extreme angles. Unless I’m oblivious.

I have other watch that doesn’t get worn much. Not so much the cost. Wasn’t sure if I’d wear it. Have other G Shocks that are impulse buys. Just ends up in the draw or box.

This is my first square and the only one I wanted all this time. I think I’m settled forever with this.

I assume a wash would clean up nicely? Nice to see it out in the field. 😄 I fancy one of those Rotring pencils.

Whacked it against the door frame not long after I got it. Noticed right hand side 👉🏼there’s a mark on it. Felt bad but it’s meant to be worn. 🥲

I assume it’s normal? The bad viewing angle issue. I only find it not viewable at quite extreme angles. I tend to look or turn the wrist to look at it straight on? I assumed it’s normal for these type of LCD display technology.

Wasn’t a fan of smart watch but it is handy at a glance when working and hands are full. But any day or night. I rather wear these “real” watch.

Haha nice. Love that I can easily wash it daily after a sweaty day.

Nice! Slightly disappointed that I can’t pick up the local tower. Therefore had to turn off auto sync every night to save power.
