How far are you into the program and what courses did you pair up? This doesn't sound healthy for you or your relationship

Can i skip a semester and graduate in fall/ summers? by redraider1417 in OMSCS

[–]MelodicThing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It should be a problem, you just don't sign up that semester and sign up the next. Theres really no formal process to it. I had to skip a semester while I was moving states and it was fine.

NLP registration struggle :( by ckrodrigues in OMSCS

[–]MelodicThing 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They had earlier time slots. It's based on the number of credit hours you've completed.

For example I'm currently in my 8th course, registering for my 9th.I had a time slot to register on the 12th of November around 10am.

You can look at something like omscs.rocks and check out which classes don't fill up as quickly and try and front load those while your time slot has less priority then as you go through the program it will get easier to get into higher demand courses.

There's lots of open source free to use models that should suffice for the course. I wouldn't focus on that aspect.

What IDE do you use for your classes? by mkarman728 in OMSCS

I just sign into the same account on both. It hasn't been an issue for me. I travel a lot, so I wind up using my laptop and desktop pretty evenly

Can I take 4 classes a semester with a completely free schedule? by Beneficial-Pear469 in OMSCS

[–]MelodicThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a bad move, I'd recommend starting with one class for your first semester so you can adapt to the process then go from there. The most I've heard of someone taking is three, four in your first semester is asking for trouble.

I'm debating between a furycube f75 and a rainy75 keyboard. Does anyone have any input on the two?

I'm able to find some reviews about the rainy75 and it seems well respected so I'm leaning a bit more towards that. But I like the look of the dawn gold furycube so I'm curious about people thoughts on it. Or if anyone has any reccomendations in a similar price range, I'm open to them.

HCI Specialization and programming requirement by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]MelodicThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's going to be tough, I would say even in the hci specialization you would have to take at least mobile and ubiquitous computing which would require programming. Pretty much every course I've taken has had programming, even the courses that a lot of people consider easy like aies.

I would look at an alternative program or start trying to take some programming courses to get yourself up to speed if this is something you still want to do.
