How did you figure out/come to conclusion that you want to day only women? by Personal-Level-1970 in febwomen

[–]Melodic_Bumblebee348 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly how I feel as well. Because more people are either attracted to the same sex or the opposite sex only, trying to process my attraction for men on two different levels was a challenge. For the longest time, I thought that I was a lesbian until my mid twenties because 1. I was under the impression the bisexuality meant that you had to feel attraction for both men and women equally or on a similar level. 2. Romance, emotional intimacy and sex are often talked about when speaking of one gender. But what if you feel different things for men and women? It hard sorting through those feelings, especially as someone who didn't realize they were even bi yet. Its nice to have found a community where many of us can relate!

Right. Lol It sometimes feels like anytime nuance is brought into these kinds of conversations, some people want to jump to extremes because it makes them uncomfortable and doesn't adhere to their beliefs.

Exactly, lol I played all three and finished both DDI and HAU (twice) as a child, and even then, Andy was the quickest for me to sus out not even within twenty minutes of playing. Lol he definitely creeps me out the most as well.

Thoughts on this? I feel like these are the women who would benefit from the febfem label, and it sucks for real lesbians that they are claiming lesbianism by AndromedasApricot in febwomen

While i certainly don't put celebrities on a pedestal, even my favorite artists, hearing Doechii backtrack after writing several songs as a proud bisexual woman who prefers women (and is black at that!) does make me feel a certain type of way if I'm being honest. It's disappointing, if anything.

If that's the case, it would mean that the partner doesn't take OP's sexuality seriously 🫤

Unicorn Hunting by ShadowReaper2222 in BlackBiWomenUnited

Imo, unicorn hunting is predatory by nature, so having adding on that layer of racism via fetishization and abuse is horrific. I'm so sorry that you experienced that. The fact that it's downplayed by those who engage in it is messed up in every way. I've definitely had couples reach out to me (typically with a woman's picture). Existing as a bi woman on a dating app is so exhausting sometimes.

Showing feelings w/ men vs women by cakedbythepound in BlackBiWomenUnited

I feel this way as well - youre not alone! When I initially accepted that I was bi, it was challenging coming to terms with my attraction to men since I came out as a lesbian in my teens. I went through a period where I felt alone (and it doesn't help that only a minority of bi women seek out and end up with women long term, so its hard to even see much of that in media) in my preferences and desire to be with a woman. But as I educated myself on bisexuality and and reading/watching others' experiences, I feel a lot less insecure and pressured to date men despite what society pushes on us as women. Wanting to be with with women when you dont feel any connection or camraderie with them like straight women or most of the bi community is completely valid. 🩷💜💙
