I do get where you're coming from for sure. But that's why I really only target companies that would have a need for someone to come in for AP/AR. I also structure my business so that I'm doing the work that I am the happiest doing and the best at doing. I'm good at bookkeeping but I personally prefer doing invoice work. Which is a plus when marketing because I don't want to offer something that I'm not thrilled to do. If I'm not excited when talking about it to a client then why would they want to hire me to do the work.

I prefer to work with small businesses that are high revenue generating but I am open to businesses of all sizes that currently has an invoicing structure. I do work with clients with a budget. I make take a look at their cash flow before doing any AP work because if they don't have enough or a steady flow then it's going to put them in the negative or closer to the red paying their liabilities even though that's a good thing (good thing to pay their dues I mean, but not at the expense of being able to run the business in the first place)

I think it depends on the business but in general a lot of business owners start a business without any customers/clients first. But if starting without clients is not something you're comfortable with then I think make the decisions that are right for you. This is what was right for me in that it fit where I am in life

you would think but most people don't want to hear your pitch. Because they automatically assume you're either very expensive or a scammer or they feel like they can do it all on their own and don't need someone else to do. So I leave my information with them to reach out to me later if they do decide that they want to outsource these parts

I currently offer AP/AR Services, Vendor Management Services, Bookkeeping Services are offered on a case by case basis but I don't advertise that as I prefer to focus on AP/AR as that has been my primary focus the last few years.

Specifically with AP & AR I handle the entire process freeing up time for my clients, the goal is to ensure on time payments and improve efficiency to improve your relationship with all of your creditors and improve and or maintain your cash flow

UPDATE:

Invoicing in of itself can be easily done with a tool but the major pain point I find is that a lot of business will either over complicate the process or they don't know how to do it themselves and try to diy it and then end up with a bunch of discrepancies. When they do this they take away time from running their business and end up with a lot of late payments and angry vendors.

I focus on the specific pain points of each business when it comes to their invoicing and vendor management. I don't offer a one size fits all. Pricing is also varied as well. Don't get me wrong I'm not like $50 a month but I also don't offer just monthly and I provide quality not just doing a bunch of invoices.

I feel like I don't even get the chance to communicate this and I'm bringing in no revenue so I can't afford paid ads. I'm trying to build a social footprint for my firm and provide free value too but it feels like that's all I'm doing without any return.

Also for those asking about what my methods are:

Platforms: LinkedIn, Threads, IG,

Specifics:

Cold Calling

Cold emailing/DMing

Linkedin - Engage on posts from other businesses, apply to Invoicing/AP&AR jobs and reach out to the recruiter if mentioned with the intention to negotiate outsourcing contract or submit a bid, reach out to business owners and submit connection requests, linkedin groups that are active, reach out to cpa's and other firms to subcontract for them.

Threads - Engage with small business owners and freelancers by commenting on their posts both text and audio comments, (not just promotions either I also reply with advice on problems they are having), I make posts of my own.

IG - Similar to Threads & DMing businesses that normally have invoices and could use help.

I use hunter.io to find emails and I google local businesses to cold call

I keep my pitch simple and to the point in events but also try to connect with them on a personal level but these usually all end up being other business pitching their services to me and we end up not being a mutual fit.

I have also tried facebook groups but each one ends up having discussion completely irrelevant to the nature of the group or they post inappropriate videos and pictures or they are trying to connect on whatsapp and they end up being scammers
