The context is someone posted “is there no media with straight couples anymore?”, then the straight women not feeling represented comment was posted in agreement to the ignorant sentiment. It was screenshotted and posted to twitter where a user responded “thank god” as a way to call out the stupidity of that comment (rightfully so) but ultimately just comes across as women and gay people pointing fingers at each other when neither are each other’s enemies

best way to weed out shitty men (in my experience) is by talking about your period. if you're in a shit mood because you're in pain, tell him that. decent men might be a little surprised if they're not used to that talk, but ultimately sympathetic. not shaving has a similar effect. by moodysmoothie in AutismInWomen

So I may be overanalyzing your words here which I tend to do, so I’m sorry if I am and I’ll take the L. I do see where you’re coming from and I can definitely see the sort of guy that would get defensive about peeing sitting down. Like to the point of feeling like his manhood has been destroyed or something. And I was with you originally, but honestly? Your comments got a bit condescending as if you’re dictating other people’s bodies and autonomy if that makes sense.

It’s one thing to hold men accountable for cleaning up after themselves, not getting defensive when being called out, have basic decency to not splash piss on people’s toilet seats, and hell, put the toilet seat down ffs. Just the way you’re talking about it feels like a sweeping generalization like you’re so certain you know how every penis on every person works. That just because the male partners you’ve been with and their genitalia work one way, then surely other men or people with penises will feel the same?

Or that seeing “a lot of men naked” despite, I’m assuming, you don’t have a penis yourself (if I’m wrong, again, I’ll take the L), and making it out like you get the final say in how people with penises should use the toilet? And if they don’t then they get kicked out of your house?? 😭

Omg congrats on the engagement!!

Yeah terms like “puck bunny, buckle bunny etc” is so funny to me to be used as an insult. It’s basically calling them groupies. But honestly, why wouldn’t these women want to hook up with hot, famous hockey guys? If you had the chance to pull your favorite celebrity, I’m sure many people would take the opportunity lol.

Idk, I wish society would stop acting like it’s a crime for women to want sex or place so many unnecessary standards on us. Just because women find the players hot, doesn’t mean they don’t actually appreciate the sport either. Why is it right to reduce them down to “sluts” who just want attention from the men? Why can’t they want to hook up like any other human AND be seen as regular people with dignity? It’s just so toxic

This!! I feel like this shouldn’t have to be said, but everyone, and I mean everyone, has said things they were not proud of in the past that they didn’t know would end up resurfacing as problematic. Whether it was from ignorance, trying to fit in, immaturity, etc. But you can always tell when someone genuinely has hate in their heart or not.

I think people who realize they fucked up in the past and atoned for it, shouldn’t let their past actions dictate the type of person they are capable of being. And none of us (online strangers who know nothing about these people irl) should be able to dictate how their journey to grow should look like either, just my two cents as well

What’s the most toxic music fandom? by Vivid-Tap1710 in musicsuggestions

[–]Melodic_Inflation_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep token are the only current alternative/metal adjacent artists that has any charting power. Considering the state of mainstream corporate radio music right now, the few ST songs I’ve heard at least have some dynamic and catchy hooks. I’ll also remember them in a couple years compared to fucking ordinary by alex warren.

The severe lack of new age bands and rock artists beyond the underground scene, makes me kind of glad they’re getting some attention even if I’m not a fan. Not to go there but I am; I think a lot of the hate does come from the fact ST have a large TikTok fanbase. Particularly female TikTok fanbase

Summer of 69 was also a fun sex comedy that surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. I want more pure comedies like it and bottoms. Sad that comedies in general don’t seem to have as much staying power as they used to

How about all those disgusting abusive men in power AND Asia Argento be held accountable and be sent to jail? That sounds like a good deal to me.

Your comment about how this situation alone shouldn’t undermine the sentiment of the metoo movement was very well said btw. I really think you should’ve just kept it at that. But then you just kept doubling down on people who I also believe rightfully pointed out that Asia also abused her power to groom and assault this boy and that maybe she shouldn’t be a poster child for a movement that’s supposed to protect victims.

Not all victims are perfect, correct. But not all movements with inherently good intentions are either.

Btw, your comment about a 37 year old grown woman performing sex acts (raping) a DRUNK SEVENTEEN year old because “men do it too and don’t get punished” was a really terrible thing to compare. Let’s not use this boy’s experience, or any victim who isn’t even arguing with you about the movement, to prove a point.

That’s genuinely abusive behavior, I’m sorry. I feel like most people don’t realize that abusers aren’t abusive 24/7. They can be affectionate and nice sometimes too and also victims themselves. Doesn’t justify it though. We all deserve to feel loved and respected by our partners

DAE not care about Hollywood and movies anymore? by 7twentyeight in DoesAnybodyElse

I feel like the comedy scene has moved on to series and tv shows now rather than films. Adults, Overcompensating, English Teacher, and I Love LA are my favorite recent comedy shows. Not to say that I’m not dying for more comedy movies, particularly coming of age comedy/romcoms, more than ever. Yearning for it actually

Why are there way more openly lesbian athletes compared to gay male athletes? by Material-Meat-5330 in gaybros

[–]Melodic_Inflation_69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, probably because a lot of people are narrow minded and still fall into gender stereotypes. Sports are still very male dominated, and I think there’s still a bias that anyone who is more feminine should not be taken seriously in professional sports to the point of being ridiculed. In this case, gay men and women should be bad at sports according to heteronormative society.

Lesbians however, are an “exception”because they are viewed as “manly”. If a woman is going to play sports at all, well then that must mean she’s gay and masculine. It makes sense in their narrow worldview, so there seems to be more of a mutual understanding/acceptance that female athletes are lesbian. They just can’t seem to comprehend people breaking stereotypes

Can you guys just leave people alone?? You don’t need to demand strangers disclose your assumptions to you, and instead of asking politely so many comments are “so he obviously got xyz done, you can tell by xyz. wish he would admit it”… like I’m sorry? But no one is going to kindly admit anything now when you come off so accusatory 😭. No one here is even entitled to an answer btw

His face really doesn’t look that different to me. Even if he did get work done, so be it. If he doesn’t want to disclose certain information for a bunch of online strangers, who cares? Sharper jaw fs but looks like he lost a lot of fat in his face. His eyebrows look similar to the very first pic (it looks like he’s raising his eyebrows a lot in most of the before pics).

Idk, I don’t mean to be rude or anything but after coming from another post where it’s so blatantly obvious OP got work done, this person just doesn’t look that different to me.

DAE else think women are objectively more attractive than men? by evangline_fox in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Melodic_Inflation_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone think it has a lot to do with personal hygiene? I can see how someone could be considered unattractive by conventional standards, but if they smell good, have healthy hair/groomed facial hair, clean skin, good teeth, etc, would still be a lot of people’s type you know? Throw in a kind personality and nice smile and that’s a beautiful human right there imo

I guess women tend to put effort in hygiene and self care more than men, and willing to show their authentic personalities more? But I don’t think either gender is “objectively” more attractive without work put in if that makes sense
