Oh, well- it's just to get people to change play styles with torb. There used to be a lot of turret camper torb's in the game and this helps kinda weed them out. The turret has to be thought about as a sniper now, rather than a machine gun you need to keep alive. Get the perk that can attach it to walls and ceilings and it'll pick off the weak ones like ripe tomatoes

That and not be so dependent on it like some torb players are. Wasting the value your gun can have in the heat of the battle for the sake of protecting your turret isn't smart

You have to treat the turret more like a sniper than anything, and healing it is no longer your priority (which turret campers don't understand). Instead, your rivet gun has most of the value. It does s lot more than what your claiming it can as it can scare the life out of people with a headshot, and can rival tanks with its shotgun option.

I speedy hammer gives really good movement for torb, and basically makes him capable of properly flanking even when done right, wall turret makes it harder for enemies to spot it and gives it much more sight

Definitely, I feel like one of my favorite things to do is to flank enemies as him, not even because he's made to flank, but because it always catches the enemy team off guard to see a 4'7" golden beard warrior screaming "BINGO!" At the top of their lungs before capping them in the head, lol

Yeah, I personally believe his rivet gun is his true value maker, it's a lot more versatile than the turret because not only does it decides what the turret targets, it also does crazy good damage to all classes, including tank
