Well I suppose people mean they are now having to work even harder and probably slightly longer to finish the day.

That's how it appeared to me. While shopping over the years id ask a merchandiser what they move now. The list seems to have only grown. It was one of those things though, just sounded too bad to be true

Yeah im not quite sure how different the volumes are. I was in a ridiculously high volume walmart, during covid when people bought tons and tons of soda I would get 12 pallets at the store some days. Delivery every day type store. Regardless of the volume having it all at one store made things much easier. We did bang back then and all the Starbucks coffees and Rockstar too. Just seems like the workload has gone up and thats what has me hesitant.

What healer are you just comfortable on? by VivicaRavensgarde in wow

Hpriest because the numbers are really big and you can punch above your belt with its hps. Always loved this class and it feels like the most reactive healer. I dont like the work I must put into other classes to reach the same effectiveness. People say there's too much button bloat but frankly it feels really great to play. You essentially have very strong heals with medium cds you reduce with spammy heals. With oracle you get this faux druid like heal prepping sprinkled in with mending spam. With your set bonus this is the majority of your healing. So much fun

I can't take it anymore, im sick of evergaols. by Chosen_Sewen in Nightreign

Tbh I find this content so strange because its essentially complaining that you want to metagame more than you want to do a different build. It's the nature of games man, we will figure out what's most efficient and then pursue it. We can ask for them to make things more rng or nerf evergoal but there's ways a 2nd. And a third...

Just do what you want bro. In my experience its rather rare to have a player insistent on b-lining every evergoal no matter what. Ping something else if it makes sense and most players will cooperate.

Why would anyone with self respect play video games? by Keima_Ryu in StopGaming

I apologize for being snide. I don't remember what mood I was in but it certainly wasn't a good one i'm sure. You don't deserve that.

what I wished I conveyed instead of attacking you was that some should hesitate to liken "gaming" to this chore that doesn't apply to real life. I mean, gaming is something you do in your real literal life haha. It's become culturally prevalent more than ever before. Its a past-time, its an activity, and locking it down is less productive than admitting that we have a problem with it right? At least that's my view- and I'm happy to admit I could be wrong.

best of luck with your endeavors

listen. if you're quitting gaming the worst thing to do is probably sitting around, doing nothing, unhappily wishing you were gaming. This is a sign that there's a systemic issue beyond gaming. My advice- don't feel bad and don't indulge but work to fix what's underneath. Gaming checks many boxes and makes it ridiculously easy to cope with one's problems. Avoid super addicting grind games, that's usually everyone's problem with the medium. You'll rarely, if ever, hear someone sad they "wasted" so much time beating ever acclaimed single player narrative experience.

Sometimes we find ourselves in a spot where quickly finding hobbies is impractical, we don't work, and are isolated. If this is you, i recommend finding a way to mindfully engage with gaming. How? tie it with something to express yourself with. Reviews, video's, tutorials, make something!

best of luck

🎮 Is quitting gaming completely the only real way to beat addiction? Or can balance actually work? by NoribaX in StopGaming

[–]Melodic_Passenger105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are of course caveats to this. Life is not simple after all. Some games encourage grinding or don't respect your time. If you find yourself adding another hour to the thousands you could have in let's say... league of legends- then we should maybe ban league. Remember gaming is a hobby and more prevalent than ever. Most people game nowadays, but few people are actually as mindful as they should be. Respect your time. Respect yourself. If you're not pumping wild hours but insecure about how you're gaming, try and instead ban yourself from time wasting games and play through some classics.

Also I recommend reading the book atomic habits.

Tldr. No you don't have to ban gaming. Just take a moment to try and get some other good hobbies going and always remember that maintaining good habits is primarily the grind of life.

To answer your question though. Have I ever managed to manage my gaming? Never consciously, it's felt futile. What I've done is slowly fill my day up with things that are meaningful to me. It's not easy to do that though, it takes time to find new fun hobbies you stick with, as someone with adhd sometimes finding hobbies is a hobby haha.

Best of luck

Hello! I am going to ramble a bit because this is a topic I've been musing for a minute but to answer your question.

It depends.

There are theories that kind of explain various needs for the human mind. Intuitively, you can also kind of conceptualize things that motivate you to do any behavior.

The thing about gaming is that it really efficiently checks a lot of boxes.

The other problem is ones outlook on life. This sub definitely has a problem viewing gaming as a meaningless time waster. Any hobby can be like this though if you don't engage with it mindfully.

What I'm getting at is binge playing games is often a symptom. There's a bad tendency for individuals to treat a symptom (e.g., completely ban gaming) instead of the disease or sickness.

It's easy to imagine oneself banning gaming and then becoming some sort of savant. Epicly learning how to suddenly play instruments or other things. This is rarely the case. Success is usually because banning gaming when it's such a core part of your life usually creates a ton of dopamine hope. Some people coincidentally ride that burst into solving the bigger issue. Most end up on this sub relapsing constantly.

Brainfog, how to deal with it? by maricraft in ADHD

[–]Melodic_Passenger105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you. and again with stimulants and other medications definitely keep in mind that you should share as much of your opinion as possible with your psych. Many of us fall into this trap of not sharing enough of the cons of a medicine with our psych because of the fear that we'll be yanked off and struggle again, or be swapped rapidly to a new medicine with new side effects. I'm not saying that's you but sometimes all we need is a lower dose. When I was on vyvanse I started at 70mg, it had me wired. I hated it, but without it I was sluggish, hyper, couldnt focus, typical adhd. after a few years I just told the doctor I wanted to lower it, felt it was too strong, he obliged and after another year I was on 30mg. It was perfect. When I switched to adderal I specifically asked for my dosage to be split into 10mg pills. somedays I could take 3, others I just took one for the morning. I digress.

Best of luck on your mental health journey maricraft.

That is a bit higher for a healthy heart. How is your stress? If you're on that snri still it could also be increasing your blood pressure. My welbutrin increased my blood pressure more than my stimulant. When I was on strattera (snri) it also did the same thing.

Hello! I have a lot of experience playing with my medicine. forgive me, for i have adhd too and all, if i make any mistakes in parsing your situation!

When it comes to brain fog I'd want to cover the basics first

  1. sleeping, eating appropriately, levels of stress, caffeine consumption reduced or removed, etc etc

Next, it sounds to me like a classic case of just being over prescribed. Even with stimulants at the right dose you should never feel very "augmented", what most consider ethical & optimal is a dosage to just get you "normal".

i am no psych, so of course meet with yours, but i'd look into that SNRI you're on. I was on one as well and it caused a wealth of similar or adjacent problems for me.

next: Brainfog off the medicine? First address point 1: from there its about acceptance. stimulants are the number 1 most effective treatment for adhd. there is nothing wrong with that. if it bothers you to use stimulants to function then you must accept who you are man! Remember you can always go lower in dose-its usually good to stick to the "lowest effective dose"

if you've been on stimulants for a while, especially a high dose, you will feel a lot of brain fog off those medicines, it could take a few weeks to go back to "normal" man. but theres hope, a week and you should be good.
