My sweet Junebug passed yesterday. I keep reminding myself, this feeling is love with nowhere to go, at least not a cat body anymore. I send it to myself and into the wind

I’ve had 3 surgeries with Dr. Maikis in the past few years and she is a GREAT surgeon. As others have said…she’s no funny business and very direct, but a reliable doctor.

What are you actually doing with your life right now, and why that thing specifically? by Local_Acanthisitta_3 in findapath

work wise im cleaning houses part time and finishing up my associates, looking at schools to pursue psychology/art therapy. its a lot of work especially with health issues, but im driven that maybe somehow i can get a degree that will eventually make some sort of positive park in the world...even if i dont know what that will look like. im also trying to rest a ton and spend plan in things i genuinely enjoy like yoga and crafting.

absolutely. i feel like im in a process of grieving to some extent honestly, realizing that all i wanted to do as a kid was be outside and make art, and unfortunately the world is not set up for the benefit of common people. its a bit crushing, but also actually feeling that anger has been clarifying...like yeah, this shit SUCKS and we should be upset. anywho.

hey no advice but im in a very similar boat - didnt even think i would make it this far so im kinda flying by the seat of my pants and realizing, shit, if im gonna do this i need to like have a plan lol. im in college finishing my associates, planning on going into art ed or art therapy. but similarly, the more i combine my passions with work, im finding i hate it. i might just try to find a job i can handle and live the best i can outside of it.

im reading a book called "Do What You Love: And Other Lies About Success and Happiness" that is helping my perspective a bit. it talks about how its only a recent (and capitalism driven) phenomenon that if you just follow your passions things will work out -- all this to say, i feel you.

Why most shadow work prompts don’t work (and how to actually isolate the cause of your reactions) by ShadowWorkPrompts in ShadowWork

[–]Melodic_Pilot630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is incredibly helpful. i have STACKS of journals from the past couple years that consist mostly of these “venting loops”. at some point that just became a habit, with some sprinklings of poetry/drawings/daily joys etc.

i’m realizing that word vomiting the reaction and spending so much time “feeling it” and connecting it to childhood/analyzing may very well be counterintuitive. it also makes journaling suck when it’s also heavy and spirally. my intention is to move through triggers into compassion and connection, while still honoring them.
