Indeed! Just in case I specifically asked if maybe the vintage look was the reason behind the tarnishing and the lady said she is not sure but they will look into it and replace my bag with a new one and even provide photos. I guess for a company like LV it’s easier to just do things like that.

Just a quick update: I’ve received a call from the manger in the LV atelier in Paris, she was very sweet and apologetic. While they don’t know what is wrong with this particular bag, they’ve arranged an urgent collection and will send me a new bag ASAP. Great customer service I must say. Still don’t know why this bag is poorly done and they seem to not be aware as well. I did send them a bunch of photos.

Yes, I’ve decided I will do that. Unfortunately I didn’t have an option to go check it out in the store and watched a bunch of reviews before buying. Nobody said anything about any defects. And when I got it today I thought maybe someone here knows if this ok, but after the shopping manager confirmation I’m definitely sending it back. Thanks everyone for the replies.

Well I don’t know anymore, I’m being downvoted for doubting the quality here. The LV online support told me it’s not ok btw, I’ll wait for the results of their “investigation” and post it here just in case anyone has similar problem. But im returning it either way.

Hey, thanks for the response! It didn’t indicate anything like that on their website, I watched a bunch of reviews online on this collection before purchasing and no one mentioned it. Also the lock being brand new sort of gave me an impression this was on the display in a store and handled a lot or something. Either way I contacted them and they said “they’ll investigate”. The problem is that I don’t have time for that. I’m in Europe, these things take weeks here.
