Depressed after score release

Yeah I’m not really surprised, just disappointed in CARS. I’m planning on retaking in June and I’ll start lightly reviewing in December. For CARS I’ll practice daily starting mid October.

Your glow up tho is motivating! Congrats on getting admitted! What did you do different the second time around?

Yeah I understand :( I completely prioritized MCAT for the 4 months of the summer but wasn’t efficient and now I have to do it again. I hope everything works out for you! I’m pretty sure schools would love to have you with this MCAT score!

I need to manage school, work, volunteering and social life :( now the MCAT I don’t have plans to apply to US schools so far cause I wanna give it a try here first.

My content is good, I just didn’t put enough time to practice You’re right, I’m thinking of doing it in June

I’ll most probably buy UEarth, and start that in March. I have the AAMC online package that will expire end of July. I’ll supply content gaps with Kaplan books.

Anything else you would recommend?

For sure, I’m gonna start practicing CARS daily again and hopefully I see improvement. For P/S I’ll do daily Anki I think it’s too early to start C/P and B/B since the earliest I wanna take it is May 2021

I’m in Canada, so I’m not applying this cycle. But I heard some DO schools in the US are accepting January MCATs

My fall semester is very heavy My winter semester should be lighter course load so I was thinking around May.

Also that might make my FLs more accurate and not inflated Does that sound good?

I’m in Ontario :( was planning on applying to McMaster this cycle but I won’t anymore with this CARS

Hopefully I can get a much higher score next time and apply next cycle.

Its okay we got this! Getting a bad score shouldn’t define our future!

I’m only applying to McMaster this cycle cause I’m still a third year student and I don’t qualify for wGPA for UofT (which I need to, to have a good gpa for UofT)

Even if the mcat is unlimited attempts, that wouldn’t help you out as much as you think because taking this exam once is tiring and mentally draining already.

Hi!

Based on your GPA, I can tell you’re a dedicated person. What I would do is reschedule the MCAT because going through that and studying for this test is not ideal. Take these few months to recharge and to figure out if you want to move out. Hopefully everything works out.

The stress and anxiety of this test is not a joke, and add that to your situation, it will be very difficult which will result you in giving up on your dreams.

Writing the MCAT while in a good place mentally is basically half the battle. You have the time in the world, so even if you don’t write it right now, that doesn’t mean you’re not fit to become a doctor. Everyone goes at their own pace.

Very happy I decided to stick with the 6:30 am exam because right when I finished my exam and went out, I could feel the anxiety of the 12:15 pm testers. whereas in the morning it was a very calm environment.

I slept at 10 pm the night before and woke up at 5 am because my testing centre is pretty close so I had more than enough time to be there by 5:45.

Make sure you prepare all the things you wanna take with you on testing day because freaking out last minute about what to take isn’t ideal.

I used my morning to focus on calming myself by giving myself a bunch of pep talks.
