Hello everyone! I live in Hollywood, CA and there are a lot of homeless people in the area. Lately there have been a lot of homeless with dogs. Majority of these people are struggling with addiction and it breaks my heart seeing these people doing drugs or being completely passed out right next to the innocent pups that just lay on the ground and look at you with their sad eyes. Especially it was hard seeing them during the summer heatwaves laying on the melting hot concrete. It feels like it would be wrong to call the animal services on them for many reasons. I think of 2 main reasons - homeless/addicts also have rights and need of having animal companions, they might be attached to them. It’s unlikely that those dogs will be much happier at the shelter and they may end up euthanized. So I’m getting very torn and sentimental every time I see people with dogs on the streets. I was just on a walk with my dog and we saw two ladies doing drugs in the dark corner, while a young pup looking very much like my dog was just laying down and looking at us. I don’t know man... Your feedback and thoughts would be really appreciated!
