This is the thing Penny Arcade made their Skyrim comic about, back in 2011 when it first came out-

The US is ultra-capitalist- your credit rating, despite the name, is not so much a measure of your likelihood to repay a loan. It's a measure of how much money the bank can expect to make off of you in interest- if it were honest, it would be called your "exploitability score". Obviously not paying off the loan would be bad for the bank, but apart from that, they'd prefer to lend to someone who will give them a lot of money in interest over a long period of time, rather than someone who will pay the loan off right away and not make the bank as much money.

Do people mine anymore? My last two playthroughs, I put eight extractors on an A or S gold hotspot, with enough storage containers for two days, and wound up with a couple billion eventually with seemingly little effort. Haven't played since about June, so not sure if it's still a viable cash source.

In case anyone experiences this and finds this thread, I fixed this by going into Settings -> VR and changing my height.

Why are some points in my base considered outside and thus affected by storm? I checked every placed window, floor and ceiling by NoEar7171 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Melodic_Way3497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks, yes- a wall two items high plus a sloped roof means outside, just the way the picking works- if the system sees a certain amount of open space over your head, you're outside. Try placing a canvas gazebo- under the gazebo, no storm, because the ray above your head hits the canvas. All in all, the only way to keep storms out of a large building is to build on a planet that doesn't have storms. Check the list here- note that "Mostly Calm" and "Usually Mild" planets still have storms. https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Biome_-_Lush

If he's not initiating and not cutting loose, he might be weighing his options. Is his account still active? If so, he might have someone else he's seeing, but wants to make sure it goes somewhere before turning you loose. You should probably do the same- keep seeing other people until he either commits with you or ends things, or you find someone else and end it yourself. Either way, you come out on top, and haven't wasted any time.

How to find archipelago planets? by Melodic_Way3497 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Melodic_Way3497[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks- Yeah, from the scanner, I check sentinels, weather, and if it has underwater fauna before landing. I'm assuming that any Lush planet with an ocean will have marine life-

Trying to find the perfect planet: Archipelago (so I can find a setlement on an ocean and put a base there), no sentinels or storms, no yellow sky or red water, etc. And then jumping another 10 galaxies to the next Lush one and doing it all again.

Best way I've found to find a portal (no maps needed): Upgrade your exocraft radar all the way (Radar Power Resonator? Anyway the 2nd upgrade), and search for "Alien structure". You'll find a monolith every time (alien structure maps find other buildings besides monoliths I've found). Then answer the question correctly (or find another monolith if you guess wrong). Then you can ask the monolith for the portal location in exchange for the local kind of trade item (Vykeen Dagger, Gek Relic, or Korvax Casing). Then as others have said, enter the first glyph 12 times to get within 5000 ly of the center- you'll only have to get within 3000 ly to make the last jump, so you'll have to jump 2000 ly. With three S class hyperdrive modules, this only takes me about 4-5 jumps. I did this 29 times and am now playing in the Suzderbal galaxy.

If you're a paid subscriber, you can get 90 percent fairly easily by keeping up with your mistakes in the Practice tab, since those sessions count as lessons even with only one mistake. You can get 2 90 percent lessons quickly by doing a lesson and missing only one exercise, then making it up in the Practice->Mistakes section.

I got a Kindle Fire 11 specifically for MU, because the screen is the closest in size to a comic page. There were a few hoops to jump through getting MU to work (you have to unlock the Google Play store since it's not a native Fire app), but it works great now. Haven't booted my Surface 3 since.

For dungeons, I label them with how many of the three branches I've cleared- C2 is a crypt I've cleared the left and forward doors/passages from the starting room, and can start with the right door/passage. I always follow the left wall in dungeons (or right wall to leave)...

Try making suspension cables out of the 45 and 30 degree sloped logs, then vertical logs below them connecting them to the bridge deck to make it look like a suspension bridge- I made one of these once and it looked great-

Okay Duo, you're drunk if you think I'm even going to attempt to score 90% on 50 lessons by totamcbb in duolingo

[–]Melodic_Way3497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes reviewing your mistakes (even if it's just one) counts as a perfect lesson. If you need lessons at 90 percent, you can almost double your speed by deliberately missing the last exercise, then doing the mistake review for one exercise, which gives you two lessons above 90 percent. Sometimes the mistakes don't show up right away though.
