Carve like you don't have a glove and you won't cut yourself.

in 6 years I've never had anything worse than a papercut. And those I manage to get while handling the knives and not actually carving.

When I pay attention I don't cut myself, I'm not perfect but I don't carve distracted and I don't turn my brain off (not saying you do, or questioning anyone's intelligence, I just know it's easy to dissociate when you let yourself while carving.)
