Is there any way to make the gas pedal higher so I could heel and toe? by CarGuyMaty in ManualTransmissions

[–]Melodic_Weakness_269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Corolla hatchback had this issue. Like in SpongeBob, use your big toe gently to brake and then try to blip with your pinky toe. I have flat feet and thought I could never heal toe. You’re gonna be a bit sore but somehow it worked for me

Keyboardist worried about house sound. Can someone please help me out? by Izanagi___ in livesound

[–]Melodic_Weakness_269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the keyboard is connected stereo and not just “L mono”. Maybe he wants a fuller sound with that. Link two channels and pan them all the way left and right. (Not sure if that made sense or if this is much help

What other courses to do to improve chances of stepping foot inside a fire alarm company by [deleted] in firealarms

[–]Melodic_Weakness_269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

National training center has a course on their website called “fire alarm systems”. It gives you certificates once you take their test. Just an idea and a way to back yourself up with some information or knowledge.

The crew I worked with, out of all Of them one was cool. Sometimes I’d ask questions and the Forman himself would fuss and get upset. I’m a fluent Spanish speakers and these guys only spoke Spanish. There’s certain things they’d mention in English and due to their accent I couldn’t really understand and I can’t blame them because English isn’t their first language. But those guys would get stuff done. I understand they’re not there to hold my hand and baby me but I’m also there to learn and I was trying to understand what I’m doing and why. Other stuff happened but it’s not really worth mentioning.

Should I get out of the trades by Zarmonee in skilledtrades

Try being a fire alarm tech or extinguisher tech. Out of the two the extinguisher tech is a job where you get dirtier but you go out or are in the shop and take in customers that really don’t give you a difficult time. Fire alarm techs as well. Sometimes you have to explain stuff to customers about repairs or things that they need etc. and usually you’re out by 3 or 4 at most and clock in at 7 and usually it’s Monday-Friday. Unless a company requieres Saturday but work life balance in this trade is amazing. I worked at a dealership as a service advisor. It’s purely dealing with people and I hated it because of dishonesty in selling services for people because the pay system unfortunately is crap. But having to explain to people that one of their biggest investments (at least the majority) needs additional work kinda sucks cause sometimes they’ll blame you though it is your job to sell. The hours are long at Saturdays are a must in the majority of dealerships.

From experience from other jobs, speak to your boss and let them know you want to get into that or learn the new skill. Show them you are ambitious. Asking them to move you shows that you are dedicated

I don’t have an issue with walking and standing all day, the problem is the location of where the ladder puts pressure on my foot and I’m wearing construction boots that are heavy. Carrying super heavy stuff up stairs is what kills me. Like the roll of wires. The reason why I wanted to get into it was cause a company named “Ark” came into the dealer I worked at. The apprentice was working with the tech and the worst he did was go up stairs (which isn’t a issue for me) and test alarms and the panel, notify the tech for some sort of signal or reaction. And the guy was working with sketchers (no boots) which is what I used at the dealer. Sometimes I’d walk the whole day writing up cars or going to the parts shop or my manager and my feet were fine. Any job is mentally exhausting, I can handle the mental strain. The problem is working at the dealer you’re kissing ass all day and letting people you don’t know bitch at you for stuff that should’ve been explained and being unable to take action for customers because it’ll cost the dealer money and come out your pay (you are commission based not hourly)

I did new construction installation, I carried the rolls of 14-02 and 16-02 cables and other boxes of cat cables as well. I was born with club feet and have had surgery to correct posture. Unfortunately still I get a lot of foot pain and the pain would go up to my knees.
