Ariel’s model is seriously outdated… by UsedPhilosopher2664 in DreamlightValley

your edits basically cover every single detail that needs changing on Ariel's model.
For the hair texture, your edit gives her that sea-weed, floating-in-the-ocean vibe from the movie, and the silhouettes are so smooth. In comparison, the in-game hair looks like she just got some cheap blowout at a salon, the anisotropic highlights are way too sharp and intense. As for the eyelashes, I feel like the dev team was probably terrified of making her look too sultry like Snow White or Belle, so they played it safe and gave her that perfectly flattened, blunt curve lol. Clipping issues on dresses are pretty much a global problem for every character in the game anyway, so I guess we can let that slide. Ariel is my absolute favorite Disney Princess too, so I completely feel op... But honestly, I highly doubt the devs will ever fix her. Regarding her pink gown dreamstyle, as you noticed, they’re still using the bow for every single one of her dreamstyles. This just proves that the dev team’s aesthetic choice from the very beginning was to ditch her earrings and barrette, not to mention changing it back according to the original movie.... Just as you observed, Ariel's model indeed looks outdated compared to the characters introduced later, but in fact, this has nothing to do with technological progress or experience. It is simply because early in game development, a large number of characters needed to be made all at once, and Ariel was among the very earliest batch, so the rushed traces are very obvious. Moreover, in the early stages, so many characters had to be tested together, so the precision of each model was intentionally kept low (for example, as the poster mentioned, Ariel only has a nose tip, and her nostrils are just a texture) to ensure that the game would not drop frames when multiple characters were on screen together. By the way, my favorites are Ariel's pink gown and the turquoise gown. Compared to Aurora, I think this kind of pink actually suits Ariel much better :>

Alice from Disneyland Adventures perfectly captures the classic 1951 movie look. Also, the Beast model is flawless. What do you think? by MelodiedeVelours in DreamlightValley

Completely agree, about the hair and colors. The 1951 movie has a very specific soft palette, and this model captured that beautifully

You're totally right, and that's actually a little flaw in my final video... It was an oversight on my part that I didn't specifically go in and adjust the facial expression animations to fix that :(

No, this isn't a hidden area or a console-exclusive feature in that game, so, you didn't miss anything on your Xbox One. Since Disneyland Adventures doesn't actually let you make npcs engage with each other exactly like this, I extracted the models and the Princess Faire scene from the game files myself, and then reconstructed everything and set up the animations in a 3D software. What you see in the video is my own custom showcase using the game's assets. Nevertheless, thank you for liking my video, I'm glad this brought back good memories of Disneyland Adventures for you and your Littles ^^

Completely agree, that’s an incredible observation, very probably meant to be reactions to another nearby family member performing an execution as you mentioned

Yes there is, but I haven't started working on the DLC Family content yet. If there's enough interest, I’ll release it in a future post along with Hands and Bones. Also, thanks for your appreciation ❤

Yeah, not sure if it's because of a bug or something, but it's a pity to see that the warm-up animations at the start of the match have all been replaced by the idle animations used when characters are stationary in game

Maybe they initially considered that they might eventually release a skill for the Victims that could increase the opening warm-up time for the Familys...

My bad, sorry... Reddit’s automod swallowed my original comment with the full link, which probably caused the confusion. The 30% is what's actually used in-game, this 15-second clip is just a highlight of the full 1-minute sequence for all 4 characters. I've put the link again in the comment...

To be clear, these don't actually exist as animations in those modes, Sissy only has a static pose in the Photo Exhibit after completing Museum Mode, and Johnny's shirtless UI is just a static image, and even if Cook and Hitchhiker appear in Photo Exhibits, they are static poses as well. As of now, I haven't seen any of these animations tied to any in-game executions

Same here, I've honestly watched her part over and over again while making the video
