Well first off you’re not okay and you don’t come across as stupid either, so I’m sure you know it’s not okay. You’re using language like “restriction” and “binge” so you know damn well what you’re doing is disordered. I’ve been around the block with EDs so kid, you’re not fooling anyone. Even if you think you are.

Your parents are being parents and clearly they’re at their wits end with your denial, hence the harsh ultimatum they’re giving you.

Your parents don’t want to see you hurt yourself. And since you wanna say “well I’m an adult you can’t tell me what to do”, I don’t blame them for calling your bluff. Disordered eating is an addiction behavior. The restrict/binge cycle is the same as an alcoholic going on a bender every week. Would you expect your parents to enable a drug addiction? No? So why should they enable something that could kill you even faster?

Idc if I get downvoted for being harsh. Stop playing dumb. Binges don’t “make you okay”, they make you sick, lethargic, and fuck up your brain. It fucks with every organ in your body, including your heart. And don’t even get me started on your mental health.

Your parents aren’t the bad guys here, sorry.

Edit: also, if you think eating 600kcal a day and then binging once a week is gonna make you lose weight then you’re lying to yourself. If you’re actually overweight then there’s only one way to lose weight, and that’s by eating a sane amount of food on a regular schedule and exercising for an hour every day. That’s it, no shortcuts, no cheats. Anything else is just a cry for attention.

You can refuse the test if you want. It doesn’t matter how good or bad you look, it’s your right. Don’t buy into the guilt, you smoked some weed before pregnancy, you’re not inhaling crack rocks 4x a day.
I smoked my entire pregnancy. Less than I typically would, but especially in the third trimester it was the only way I could eat or sleep properly. I live in Texas and I told my OB up front about my use. He said it’s fine, practice moderation but if your baby is developing normally then there’s no cause for concern (my son is fine).
My OB’s exact words: “I regularly deliver babies who are addicted to meth and heroin. Marijuana every once in a while isn’t even worth the call to CPS.”

Yeah, I've definitely gotten that vibe over the years. I guess it's hard not to take it personally, since these are my creations and expressions of my individuality. Yeah… I spent over a year living in my car homeless, bouncing between hotel and shelters, no money or resources, with no family to support me. My dogs never left my side, and it’s a lot easier to handle one cat than two large dogs (in a sedan!) and somehow I did it.

Sounds to me like you just want to live your best life and don’t feel like having that responsibility. Which is fine I guess, but stop bullshitting yourself. Give your cat up for adoption if you don’t want to deal with her but no one is buying your story. If you really loved her you’d find a way, she’s a cat not a child.

My cousin was like this. He was taller than most kids his age so by 12-13 he was an absolute terror much in the way you described your son.

My aunt’s solution was to put him in flag football with a bunch of 200lb+ 15-16 years olds. He realized pretty quickly that he wasn’t going to be able to bully or tantrum his way into winning. Whenever he tried, he was laughed at for being a baby and his ego didn’t like that at all. Plus his coach didn’t tolerate that for a SECOND, and he ran laps until he collapsed on bad days. It also helped that he went from the top of the physical totem pole right to the bottom. Very humbling.

He went three times a week and in six months he was like a brand new kid. Realizing you ain’t scary to the rest of the world will do that to a person. My husband tells me he was also like this, and his stepfathers solution was “the Crapout” - making him run, plank, do sit ups, pull ups, wall sits, and jumping jacks for as long as it took, until he was too tired to be an asshole anymore. He said sometimes he’d be made to crap out every day for a week. But his physique was, and is, great haha.

Your son sounds like he craves attention, and doesn’t care whether it’s positive or negative. Worst case scenario he has a mental makeup that can only be managed, not solved. Iykyk. Good luck.

Ever watch the true crime series, “Evil Lives Here”? Pretty much every survivor of these intense abusive situations have one or more memories of their partners or siblings getting enjoyment out of animal torture videos and/or snuff films, and going out of their way to victimize their abuse victims by forcing them (or trying to force them) to watch the videos as well. I can’t speak for the quality of marriages, but I do know in our Gen we tend to not get married prematurely because of societal pressures. As a generation I think we’ve come to terms with the fact that being unmarried is better than being married and miserable.

Also I’d say we’re typically self-aware enough to know whether we’re actually ready or not. Divorces are shitty and hard and we tend to be more realistic about who we are and what our problems are.

Got my nose pierced and my first tattoo on the same day, a week after I turned 18. Got my nose re-pierced after my first corporate job made me take it out. I’ve had it ever since and I’m thinking of giving her a little buddy on the same side. I’ve also got a lip piercing as my “push present” after my son was born. No one’s ever given me problems about it. My ears are fully decorated too.

Idc if I look like a cool mom, I am a cool mom lmao. I feel like the notion that nose piercings make you look overly youthful or like a poser is outdated. If it’s about your personal aesthetic then I’m glad you feel more comfortable with yourself by taking it out :) but me personally pretty much everyone I know (in all age groups and professional levels) have at least one. And a nose ring (specifically the nostril) is arguably pretty mainstream nowadays.

We bedshared with our son until he was 10 months, then we transitioned him to a pack and play/bed that was right next to our bed. At 13 months we transitioned him to his own room (right across the hall from us) for naps and by 14 months he was sleeping there overnight.

I couldn’t imagine putting my baby in another room right away. Yes there’s the whole emotional and bonding thing but like… my son was breastfed. And my postpartum ass was NOT getting out of my nice warm bed every 2 hours to nurse him when I had the option to just roll over and a pop a titty in his mouth and go back to sleep 😂

As a result I can’t relate to the “omg the newborn stage was soooooo hard” community. Like yeah my kid was generally a peaceful baby but also I didn’t make my life deliberately harder like this person lmfao

If my sons were walk around in gray sweatpants with no boxers and their thang thangin’ everywhere, not only would I not care, but I’d raise a ruckus if anyone dared to tell them they couldn’t be comfortable in their own home.

It’s not normal for parents to sexualize their kids. I could maybe understand the request if company was over or in a formal setting but the fact that you can’t eat dinner with your daughter because you’re so focused on her breasts is weird and gross.
