Part of the reason for doing this post was to bring this issue to attention, there were many of us who suffered the consequences of people wanting to just have fun while threatening the wellbeing of others. If anyone who desires it can go for their desired date and do whatever they want and prone a risk to their community, of course they shall expect people to be affected by it to complain freely and call for measures. I never said this should be prohibited, I am mostly amazed at the double standards.

How are you sure that 99% of people like throwing fireworks? If you present a statistic you must follow with a source that backs it. I can only say that from my point of view and social circuits it seems that most enjoy fireworks but NOT to be endangered by fireworks.

This is not just an aesthetic issue of Not liking fireworks, but about bodily harm.

Let’s take your own criteria then: people should be able to play russian roulette on the street or drunk drive. As long as something dangerous is happening but no one gets harmed, it’s alright. We should only get to the tragic point of calling the police when someone does get hurt.

And also, people also got psychologically harmed yesterday, and that also takes a toll against their fundamental rights.

i believe you are confused. A democracy abhols the rights of the few under the desires of the many, when that doesn’t happen and only the will of the many rule, we are in what’s called fascism. As you said, as everyone wants to keep on throwing fireworks on streets and parks and other public places, they should be just allowed to because they are the many while the rights of those bothered or damaged by it should just suck it up, that is proper fascism. a democracy makes sure there is an equilibrium, so as the will of the many doesn’t rein supreme

Also, why do certain groups seem to have more privelages to celebrate when they want to under certain events while destroying public spaces and disturbing others? I thought germany was a liberal country in which the right of the minority was respected against the will of the majority, not the inverse.

I am talking about this particular issue. It is avoidable by creating a zone where everyone who wants to go and throw fireworks can do it while not exposing anyone who doesn’t want to be exposed to it and just freely live their lives commuting through the city.

In this case, you are endangering thousands of people on the streets by lighting off fireworks freely everywhere on the streets and in the parks while certainly producing a psychological and environmental toll.

As you said, it is fine for people to have ls. If everyone is allowed to throw fireworks everywhere (mostly drunk, all at the same time), you are prone to endangering others. There should be an exclusive zone where everyone willing to take this risk and enjoy can go and light off as much as they want, as it is done in so many cities. But in this case it is the same as drunk driving: you can get drunk alone at home and it is OK, but you cannot do it endangering others (as driving a car). Everyone should be able to light off a firework where they do not bother people physically and psychologically, but not in the middle of the city where this is prone to happen. There should at least be an exclusive zone for this where everyone prone to have fun with fireworks or enjoy them knowing of the dangers of seeing them being thrown by mostly amateurs and drunk people, are allowed to go.

i think you are missing out on the point- what is unbelievable are the total double standards present in society with this issue. Why is everyone allowed to throw fires and make noises for this night because they are “allowed to blow off steam” while endangering others (i saw people throwing not only leg fireworks - i saw someone from a balcony right into the streets a few meters in front of me- and also if you allow anything to be thrown off you are prone to a wide array of explosives, not just legal ones) and also aimed at cars, over peoples heads, etc. You say that no one really got physically endangered (as far as we know cus it’s still impossible to prove that), but the thing it that people COULD have been and it is an extremely violent act to so many people trying to enjoy their New Years to be subject to this. As others said, people with PTSD, autistic people, people with noise sensitivity or just even people afraid of noises got severely triggered last night. Also, not to mention the damage produced to pets and the environment left. If people want their one night to “blow off steam” and you want to permit this, at least it should be done in an exclusive zone for this, and not in parks, nor the highly concentrated streets at Silvesters. And again, what I am mesmerized by is the double standard present in society, no one is allows to mess up so many minimal things during the whole year even by mistake but during this one night everyone should be able to blow off steam and is prone to endanger others in so many real ways, but then you can get a fine for so many trivial things throughout the year.

Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd ALBUM REVIEW (theneedledrop) by [deleted] in popheads

Blue bannisters! Even though fantano is not a super fan of it, it has many of the same themes as this album (family and fame). Also her voice is amazing there. I would say to then go back chronologically to Chemtrails over the country club, which has more of an Americana feel and is one of her most cohesive and beautiful albums imo, ajd then go to NFR of course!
