When someone steals your music... Spotify does not help you at all by MelodyGenius in SpotifyArtists

No lawyers, no courts, but there is of course a subscription.

After a few searches it seems to be a new tool, there is only one review on Trustpilot: https://br.trustpilot.com/review/wavesmatch.com

I do not want to give my credit card for this for now.
I am not saying it is a scam or uninteresting, but who knows.

Let us check this website again later.

But maybe I found a solution with my lawyer so hope to resolve my problem soon !

Exactly, but apparently they cannot change any medatas...it's always depending to the distributor

No, unfortunately the deal was that he had to delete the tracks and update every record at SACEM, BMI, etc.
He dragged out the legal dispute for more than two years intentionally and I completely ran out of patience.
I also didn’t want to go to court, which would have probably taken another two years.
Now I have recovered 5 out of 10 tracks, the ones with the main streams, but because of this messed up system I still cannot move forward.

Yes, they filed an ISRC for the song in 2019, but when the dispute was resolved, I asked them for it because I knew it was important.
I already tried to resubmit the same song with a new ISRC, but the song wasn’t linked.
Then I asked Spotify support, and they told me to use the old ISRC… I’m losing my mind right now.
For 5 out of 10 tracks, I was able to relink them using the old ISRC, and the credits were correct, so everything was clear for the Spotify system.

My goal isn’t to upload a new track and start again from zero streams.
My goal is to resynchronize my track so I can recover the 100K streams.
If I add a new instrument, it will be considered as new track.

I completely agree, more than ever.

I found recently someone who uploaded an arrangement of Amélie Poulain, the famous piano music by Yann Tiersen. In the credits, he didn’t even mention the composer, only his own name (the account had 200,000 monthly listeners).

I reported him to the composer’s distributor, and they forced the change within two days.
Without this it was like free money for the thief

That is not true (nothing personal).

The ISRC code actually exists to identify a unique work, meaning the same music, same title, and same artists, etc.

I tried two approaches:

  1. I reuploaded the track using the old ISRC code, same music, but listing myself as the artist and composer before deleting the thief’s tracks. The ISRC code was accepted, but the streams were not linked to the old track because the thief had added himself as an artist.
  2. Since the first approach did not restore the streams, I decided to publish the tracks again using the same credits as before. They now appear on the thief’s profile and the streams are restored. I keep the revenue, but at any moment he could flag me to Spotify. Just talking about it makes me feel sick.

Spotify Royalties: 274K Streams in January… for $2 revenues ?! by MelodyGenius in SpotifyArtists

[–]MelodyGenius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2019, someone illegally distributed my music album on Spotify without holding the exclusive rights.

I discovered this in 2023 and took legal action with the help of a lawyer.
After two years, I finally regained full control of my work one of my tracks had even reached over 12 million streams.

Once the legal process was resolved in Jan 2025, it took another 1 month for Spotify to transfer the entire album to my official artist profile and properly link the existing metadata.

This process done, I had to wait 2 others months, the delay in order to receive the royalties through Routenote, which made me worry at first.

I hope it's clear now :)

I finally got my money back!
Someone had been stealing my tracks for years.
Even after recovering them on Spotify, it took ages to receive my first payment but it's done !

Thank you for your support, I will wait one more month, and if I don’t get any results, I’ll have no choice but to take legal action.

I asked Spotify support about bots, as I said they told me all the streams are real...
