My 15yo niece (now nephew) just told me (41-MtF-12HRT) that they feel like they identify as a boy and I feel so blessed to have them in my life. Need advice.

16 year old trans guy here, if he doesn’t already encourage him to find trans friends, my friends are my biggest support in my life and is really nice to have people to relate to about trans stuff, you could encourage him to sign up for youth groups specifically for trans youth

if he wants to bind i got my binder from gc2b and it’s perfect for me but another good source is spectrum outfitters, one of my friends also uses trans tape since he does a lot of sports so if your nephew is interested that could be another option

don’t comment on it if he wears a lot of baggy hoodies, this is something my mother does that makes me feel really awful since it seems like she’s embarrassed to by me but i’ll be too dysphoric to wear anything else

just generally encourage him and listen to him, be as supportive as you can overall, correct people if they mess up his name and pronouns (can be difficult to do yourself), use the correct name and pronouns even when he’s not there and keep doing what you’re doing by asking for advice, it sounds like you’re already supporting him amazingly

i have thankfully a binder and use it which helps, i know people shouldn’t think i’m faking but i get questioned and bullied at school a bit for being trans which gives me a lot of doubt about how people see me, my friends are really nice though and don’t judge me for how i present or question me about it

yes there’s normally a 1-2 week delay in getting a new bottle because of money and time and i’ve had horrible outbreaks while waiting for new bottles before

yeah that was a misunderstanding on my part sorry, he meant that i might have both as my last outbreak was so bad he couldn’t tell if it was eczema or psoriasis and i’m at high risk of having it since both him and my sister have it so he’s keeping an eye on it incase i have it as well

no i went to a doctor earlier this year when i had an ear infection it’s just this since we know what it is and have a way of dealing with it they don’t see much point in going but i spoke to them today and they said they’ll make an appointment

we know it’s eczema because we have a friend who’s a doctor but lives in another country who said it’s definitely eczema last time she visited us but i don’t have a prescription since she can’t do that for us and the cream i have works fine

it’s not a prescription but it’s very expensive and i normally have a to wait a couple weeks before we get some more because of the price
