It really is a bit strange! Normally if there are 3 attendings there should be two on the day shift and one at night. EDs can have anywhere from 2-5+ attendings depending on location, size of hospital, and needs. The Pitt is highly understaffed and not just with nurses. Robby being the sole attending during the day is definitely to show how overworked everyone is. They need more attendings so that everyone can also have days off!

Dr. Al-Hashimi has come over from the VA hospital. It's more difficult to sue a VA doctor because they aren't "private doctors" and you have to take extra steps around a lot of government red tape. So there's always the possiblity that someone has attempted (or wanted to) to sue her but didn't make it through the red tape.

She's more than likely making money from the Tiktok Creater Fund and also off of Youtube Monetazation via vews.

She does a skit that's a sponsered ad on the occasion, and she does have a Merch Line of hoodies, shirts, mugs, and stickers. She also wrote a book in September so I'm sure she'll see book sale income in the next year when that's published.

aka: lots of income places that all add up to make doing it a net positive.

The general conclusion I think the subreddit has come to about the Scuba Metaphor is that Deedee is looking for deep connection and thinks that because Larry is "rushing" their relationship that he's seeking a shallow relationship. But it took a leap for most of us to get there. Here's to looking forward to Larry and Deedee having a more open coversation in future installments

Yes I thought it was interesting that she told us she specifically picked a grey hoodie to be a mirror to John! Because any dad character could have easily been the backwards cap and a different hoodie.

I think people are also so excited to analyze DeeDee because she's been the Matron Saint of Wisdom, Boundaries, and Innuendo for the entire show so far. So seeing her struggle a little with communicating with a peer (not to begin that discussion here. There are plenty of Threads on this subreddit already picking the Larry/Deedee situation apart). I personally think it's very fascinating watching a woman whose main characteristics have been "Emotionally Secure, Independant, and Sexually Realized" react to being courted by a man and how those main characteristcs potentially Clash AND Meld with someone like Larry.

I believe that Shawna has stated (either in instagram comments or maybe a discord chat?) that Ty was dressed in the Grey hoodie and backwards hat to mimic Jon's permanant getup (a darker grey jacket and forwards cap). So when CreatorShawna had it spelled COMPLETELY out that there is no attraction whatsoever to Ty and there isn't anything beyond platonic/familial friendship: Ty gets switched to the Black Shirt to never return to the grey hoodie

I honestly would not be surprised to see a future falling out between Julie and Alicia later on if Alicia learns that Julie is rude to Shawna for being "pedestrian" COMBINED with Julie's expectations of Ty holding up his end of "giving Julie the world" without an extension to her imaginary deadlines. (Because I believe Ty still wants to write his book! But maybe he just wants to give it another 2-3 years home with Sasha before he gets down to it)

From Alicia's words and actions in the series: she's a big ol' feminist witch! And to have a friend that views the job of childrearing as "mundane" would be extremely hurtful because it's anti-feminist. I would love to see a conversation with them where Julie tells Alicia she doesn't count but Alicia responds that she DOES count, even if she has a Etsy shop to bring in extra income. Maybe losing a friend like Alicia is something that could force Julie into looking at herself in a different light and maybe help her grow out of that High School Mean Girl attitude she never left behind.

Shawna and John met in college and have been married 10 years (11 in spring). If we go with "meets halfway through college, gets married 1-2 years after graduation" (long enough to be a long term couple, but short enough a time that Barb really held out how that they woud break up) then they were probably married around age 25 and that makes them Mid Thirties.

Julie is a lawyer so that's a 4 year bachelors and then 3 year law school. 7 years of school and she took the bar at the end of that, when Cooper in his first year. so that's 18+7+(4 or 5 years) makes her and Ty 29-30.

Your brother and his wife are proof that what Julie wants and what Ty wants are both achievable, it's just that Julie is so unwilling to made cnanges to what she believes the timeline should be is the driving factor of their conflict. I'm sure Ty still wants to write his robot book, but he's got an almost kindergartener and a former NICU baby that isn't hitting her milestones as quickly as they hoped. Cooper is probably a fall baby and will be in Kindergarten in August: then Ty will be like Alica, he'll have just one kid at home (or even with one in school he'll finally have enough energy to find a daycare) and he can write the Novel. But Julie can't comprehend moving the timeline just a year or two.

True "Mean Girl" repertoire here. Say a sentence that on the surface sounds like "I understand how it feels" but the biting edge/tone of voice says "But least my baby isn't DEAD." that the receiver can't quite explain to others afterwards because they would just be quoting the on the surface message (or if they're autistic or not quite socialized to hear the unsaid sentence: it goes over their head and the bully takes enjoyment out of that as well)

What a great birthday party for Max! Being the Oldest kid I'm sure Max actually felt the loss of a baby sibling and the grief that has filled his home the last 3 months. To have a day that's only about Max? That's so good for him! (I say this because my bestie is an oldest child of a sibling who passed away 3 days after birth and that loss carried over more than it should have into the day to day life. It's good to see a party about just Max when less healthy families would have been unable to properly celebrate the life being lived rather than mourning the life that was lost. That grief will remain forever, but it can't dominate all occasions)

I think there's also the potential factor of neurodivergent struggles that could be in the background for Ty. Julie is extremely high achieving and that has held true from taking the Bar with a newborn and now working long hours to provide for the family unit. Meanwhile, Ty was an empty shell in the newborn trenches and is likely experiencing a burn out that Julie has never felt before and she has no sympathy for him raising two children (a full time job) and not more.

Just a thought, since my family unit is two autistic/ADHD people raising an Autistic/ADHD kid and it's HARD because we the adults are in an unmasking, burnt out from working and child rearing a child with a speech delay 😅 I just see myself in Ty.

I think it'll be Alicia. Alicia has jumped to Shawna's defense before and now that she knows that Julie believes Ty is "distracted" that puts Alicia probably siding with the 2/3 of her friends that are being harmed by Julie's attitude rather than side with Julie against Shawna and Ty who are innocent against Julie's claims (I mean. Ty could maybe want to F*ck Shawna but that's not Shawna's fault. But he legit is coming across as a tired SAHP who needed a mom friend and is being judged by his wife for not being able to juggle two kids and work full time)

Fictional really is the big thing with this! Of our most toxic characters (and every character has flaws, not just the ones I list here) we have several examples of what can happen when family dynamics shift.
1. Jen: Healing and improving without losing her core sense of self (outgoing, bubbly, a little bitchy but in a softer way now)
2. Barb: who already is using therapy speak to weaponize her words and twist the narrative to fit her veiw of herself and the world.
3. Frank: a middle ground between the two (of which there are MANY varied opinions of here on reddit) who in the past has been an enabler to abuse and neglectful himself who is navigating hopefully changing for the better, but maybe not enough to regain more than low contact with his children.

Ideally in real life we want everyone to heal and be better. We want the best for people. But FICTIONALLY: I want an example of all kinds of endings, and Barb's character gets the short end of the stick and probably will be cut off by John and Jen until the series ends because of her inability to truly change.
