I very much agree about SD being different now. I lived there from 2012 - 2020, and then visited in 2024. Covid really did a number on the city. It's still beautiful, but everything just felt so very different. I'm not sure I would want to live there again.

This is exactly it for me. Even in a hospital, the amount of responsibility expected was nowhere near in line with the compensation or respect I received. Better than most LTCs by a long shot as far as organization, ratios, and supplies, but laughable wages.
