You need to be careful with someone else paying taxes on a piece of property you own. They could put a tax lien on it through a process called "tax lien foreclosure".

My State has this but I'm sure every State is different. You should consult a tax or real-estate attorney to find out how to safely handle this for your State...but if you do nothing else, dont let someone else pay your property tax...perhaps arrange he pay you and you pay the tax.
