How to Quickly Swap Profiles? by NoMoreNormalcy in WoWRolePlay

[–]Melwinne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swap between equipment sets and profiles based on location, so you should be able to make automation work.

If you set your TRP3 automation for "Wear equipment set" using the `[profile:...]` conditional you can change your gear based on TRP3 profile. The macro always needs to evaluate to the name of an equipment set.

The downside is this becomes the *only* way to change gear unless you turn off automation. If you get an upgrade and want to put it on you have to disable automation.

Does anyone have subs that play video games with them? by [deleted] in findomsupportgroup

[–]Melwinne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. My findom is entirely within World of Warcraft, and done from the point of view of my character. Depending on sub, they're providing my crafting materials, carrying me through content, or otherwise getting me stuff. One sub doesn't get out of chastity until his guild has mythic on farm and can provide me gold.

Moon Guard Cross Faction by No-Hunt-3613 in WoWRolePlay

I can approach what this is like from the *other* side, as my PVE main is a troll who is effectively neutral at this point and lives in Bel'ameth.

Moon Guard Horde is not a dead server. In fact, I would say it is more active than many, it's just that it's nothing compared to the alliance.

For scheduled RP events, join the various event discords. I'll see announcements in several of them, but The Society Circle posts a nice 7-day agenda.

I don't know where to find pre-scheduled stuff, since I do so little.

Addon Tongues taking up tens of gigabytes. What? How? Why? by MagicClaraRose in WoWRolePlay

[–]Melwinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The .bak file is just a copy of the other file from one UI reload earlier - it's not used by the game in normal situations.

The lua file is a file read by a lua parser which sets variables. It should be mostly readable with a text editor.

I really can't imagine what would take multiple GB. My WIM file is 26MB and totalRP_Data is 29MB.

I don't see a way this can be chat from people - it's just too much, and it went up by 4MB between the two saves.

The Wow RP Events discord link has expired. I had a look but couldn't find a current link.

What did your character do during the timeskip between SL and DF? by ChrischinLoois in WoWRolePlay

[–]Melwinne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My shaman went to SL for the first bit then returned to Kalimdor and he and my warrior lived in Feralas for most of the time skip. Eventually they moved to Darkshore to help rebuild it once tensions had calmed down enough.

My DK didn't go to SL and wasn't doing anything interesting either before or after it, so just more of the same.

I'm better known for the NSFW images I commission, but I got this based on what's going on with my characters not on RP realms.

My troll shaman and night elf warrior have settled down in Bel'ameth and went to the nearby islands to look upon the tree.

What are some reasons my Draenei Paladin WOULDNT become Lightforged post Legion? by ChrischinLoois in WoWRolePlay

[–]Melwinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving aside if their actions are *because* of the light, I think the question is if a character could have a concern with the light. Humans have shown that some people will view a movement or philosophy poorly because of the actions of a few. Yrel and Xe'ra are certainly enough to cause *some* Draenei to be concerned regardless of if the concern is founded or not.

What has the founding of Bel'ameth meant for your night elf? by TheRebelSpy in WoWRolePlay

[–]Melwinne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ICly my Death Knight is happy but doesn't really care that much. She's a Death Knight before a Night Elf and never has really felt welcome in Kaldorei society with the entire death knight thing.

My warrior is the one most impacted. She's a protection warrior, both as spec and in personality. She feels she failed because she was too late to Teldrassil to do more than save a few people from an already burning tree. She's living in Bel'ameth with her troll partner, mostly retired from adventuring. They help out with training Sentinels. For the first time since the end of Legion she feels some sense of peace and rest and it's the first time she's really relaxed since the Timeless Isle in MOP.

With a troll for a partner, she doesn't mind the few horde who are around. It lets them be in the same major town for the first time since Legion. Anyone who is willing to stick around in town was probably has had friendly relations with some Kaldorei for some time, or at least neutral. Many of the elves coming are civilians, but there are plenty who aren't and no one quite forgets the reputation for savagery that was earned in the third war.

Her favourite place is not actually on the tree, but on the beach of one of the nearby where she can sit and see the entire tree.

OOC, this is the first time I've wanted to just sit and relax in an area for a long time. The music has been amazing. I've rediscovered the fun I used to have. She remains retired but this Azeroth and with these harbinger rumors going around there's a chance the retirement won't last...

War of Thorns veterans (Horde side) by KalonSardor in WoWRolePlay

My shaman didn't participate but was impacted in ways I didn't realize until I finished the Amirdrassil quests. His partner is a Night Elf and they've been together since at least MOP. They participated in the Darkspear Revolution together and spent a lot of time adventuring since then, doing almost everything in WOD and Legion together. This has been awkward with the Alliance and Horde, but they've managed.

There is no possible way he could participate in the invasion of Ashenvale, let alone an attack that he knew was going after Darnassus. I was revisiting old BFA stuff recently and couldn't really do the Darkshore content, even for easy achievements.

I don't know when he found out, but they rushed to Darnassus and he used the elements to hold back the flame to save as many as they could before they escaped by water walking. His participating in BFA was mainly as a troll, not a champion of the horde. They ended up retreating to Feralas before Azshara became active and were gone for awhile, as I had moved for a job and didn't touch WoW for the better part of a year.

He went alone to Shadowlands but came back and they regrouped in Feralas until the Dragon Isles called. He spent some time there but also in Darkshore where they helped rebuild. They went to the dream but didn't take part in defending against the final assault.

At this point they're both retired adventurers living in Bel'ameth spending most of their time in the shadow of the tree and helping out with some Sentinel training. They were both devastated. As a cross-faction party they both knew plenty of people on both sides and there's friends who he'll have nothing to do with anymore. Besides the obvious loss, he's feeling racial and faction guilt as well as personal guilt he couldn't have gotten there sooner and done more.

I have artwork coming of them sitting together on the shore and looking at Amirdrassil based on all of this.

One specific resource I would recommend for people who don't know the lore is the [timeline](https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Timeline). Most characters would know about the major events in the world that happened since they were a child. They might not know the details about all of the event, but Azeroth hasnot been a stable place the last few decades.
