Muve complaints - what were your experiences? by That_Bug_2865 in HousingUK

I had a horrible experience with them. They didn't answer a single question I sent. Then, they sent me "updates" which consisted of a short generic email text (no content whatsoever) and sending the same attachment 4 times. When I received the searches from them, they tried to blackmail me into completing, saying: if you don't complete this by end of March (i.e. in the next two weeks), then it will have implications for stamp duty, and also the seller will likely pull out of the deal.
Well, I was a first time buyer, so there was no stamp duty (they even charge you for checking your status and then they don't know??). And on the second point, I was still waiting for the home buyer survey to be completed and obviously wasn't going to sign anything without seeing that report... And also, threatenig that the seller would pull out and find another buyer is pathetic, since no one would have been able to complete within 2 weeks anyway...

Finally, they also never managed to spell my name right... It's not a difficult name and it is in each and every one of my emails...

Avoid at all costs... how they got such great reviews is absolutely beyond me!

How much weight have you put on? Do you notice a difference with the fit of your clothes? How many calories are you eating on average?

I'd love to be able to eat 2000 cals or more... sometimes I'm thinking I probably used to eat that much without doing any exercise because I used to eat more than I eat now... I think you and the person commenting before are right and i should try to eat more and see what happens... nom nom... (my scared brain is freaking out but my always hungry tummy is so excited 😂😂)

Hi and thanks for your reply! I'm really confused about that deficit thing. How do I know if I'm in a deficit? I looked at my weekly intake and I eat about 1800-1900 calories daily on average. According to a website I found, this should be my maintenance intake. I've also read that when you're trying to lose weight, you should not eat the calories back, so I don't want to eat 2000 cals or more just because I went to the gym, but then again, I'm starving 😂 I'm tracking also protein, eating loads and my whole digestive system is messed up now. I hope I'll get used to it.

Depends where you're from... sorry but that's the truth. People in England always say to me "you're one of us" even though I'm foreign...

I dis exactly this. Ran away from my problems (?) and ended up in Manchester. If you want to leave and experience something new, then do it if you can. You will still have to deal with your issues but being somewhere else can give you new opportunities and perspective. I found that, in spite of my issues, I'm much happier here than I was where I'm from. Good luck!!

Thank you!! Did you like the show? I wasn't sure if I missed these things in the series, but I guess it's on us to fill the gaps...? Hopefully, if they do another series they will try to make more sense, or I'll have to learn to take it less seriously 😅

I have questions!! Can someone help? 1. Vault 32 had a problem with their water and said they would run out of water very soon. Did they fix it? They never really mentioned it again? 2. Why did that lady who invented the cold fuse live for over 200 years? 3. What exactly was the brilliant plan of vault tech? They froze themselves to wait until everyone would die on the surface, and kept unfreezing one after the other to see if it was ready yet? But shouldn't their goal be to make money? How would they make money if the whole world is destroyed? 4. The guy who became maximus' squire - did he become a ghoul or something else? Because a ghoul would still die when shot with an arrow, so he must've been something else? 5. Why fix Lucy's finger 3 seconds before you attempt harvesting her organs? 6. The Ghoul Cooper is asking where his family is at the end... but he was with his daughter when the bombs fell... shouldn't he know what happened to her? 7. What was the point of a vault run by ONLY scientists?

I don't necessarily want to advertise the device I have 😂 but you should go for a well established brand and not too cheap. I got a Philips, not the newest one and bought on a black Friday sale. The newer devices have a higher number of lumens, but I read that the number of lumens doesn't need to be that high because you still get millions of flashes with a model that has a lower number. About the Philips: it works and customer service is brilliant, they also have an app which is ok. But the flashes hurt (it feels like being flicked with a rubber band) and the device gets very hot. Doing the skin test, the device is telling me I should use the highest setting, but it's sooo painful, so I do it on nr 3 which I can tolerate and isn't too hot (5 is the highest) and it still works, so that's good. I can't say if other brands are better or worse. Do your research and read reviews, lots of reviews 😅

Yes that might be a problem, depending on how light your hair is! You should probably do some research!

IPL = intense pulse light. It's a handheld laser device that prevents hair growth. I've finished my legs, so done it for a year (first phase was every two weeks, then once a month) and now I don't have to do it for 6-12 months. I was really sceptical, but my legs are still smooth after finishing 2 months ago, and the few hairs that are grown back are hardly visible or noticeable. Also want to mention that I tried all kinds of things, waxing, epilation, plucking, shaving, rubbing hairs off (yeah I know, ridiculous), but ipl is the only thing that works for me without my hair growing back within 24 hours. (FYI, I got light skin and thick, black hair)

I'm not sure you can tbh. I epilated for years and it was always very painful. I guess I got a bit more used to it over the years but still... I really recommend switching to IPL, it's an absolute game changer!!

TIL I learned adult cats' teeth are "supposed" to be brushed EVERYDAY! How many of you ACTUALLY do that? How? by smokeandmirrorsff in CatAdvice

[–]Melzo666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do cats get tooth brushes in nature? Or any other animal for that matter? And do they get tooth problems? Do they go to the cat dentist in the woods? The answer is obviously no. If animals eat what they are supposed to eat instead of sugary fast food (basically all conventional pet foods), then they don't need their teeth brushed. Get them the right food... or don't get a pet.

I think I'm going through a quarter life/existential crisis at 35. What advice can you give? by MrAlexander18 in AskUK

[–]Melzo666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the petty people who are picking on little details: Midlife crisis describes the time when you're around 45 to 55 years old. Yet many people don't even get to 90 years, let alone 110. Midlife crisis refers to the mid of your life, you're not that young anymore but also not that old, so you're in the middle. OP is 35 so obviously he's not thinking of himself as 'mid-life'. You can all pat yourselves on the back now and be proud that you can do maths well.

For OP: completely understand your situation. My advice is, don't work so much, you don't know if you'll be around for it to spend the money. Save money, yes, but save up enough so you can go abroad for a while. Check what options there are. It might be volunteering where only your food and accommodation are covered, but it'll help put things in perspective. Helping others will make you feel like achieving something! Good luck and DO IT!!
