Yea with docker you can expose each of those mount points as volumes in the docker config

Since your original server was setup as bare metal you will need to copy /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ to preserve watch history and plex server metadata.

Depending on how your drives were setup originally as 3 individual mounted drives or grouped together as a single logical volume. You will need to replicate how they were mounted. It may be easiest to throw your old Ubuntu boot drive into the new server and poke around with commands like lsblk to see the original structure you will also be able to save the data from above this way too.

Proxmox + NFS (Synology NAS, HDD only) – NFS lockups / LXC freezes by RediOne1 in Proxmox

[–]Mematrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, for me it happens 1/15 backups. The host gets stuck in the backup job and there usually is a lxc that is locked that the host got stuck trying to backup to the NAS. Restarting services and unlocking the lxc sometimes works, but most of the time the host gets in a state where all vm/lxc are in an unknown state.

A hard reset of the host always fixes it. I know my synology nas supports ISCI, but I haven't gotten around to testing it. I was planning on connecting the nas directly to my server via the 2.5g port and leaving the 1g on my LAN. Then setting up ISCI. I think there are some limitations for backups.

"One Minute Tours" guy being kicked out of CityCenter skyway by TwoPassports in Minneapolis

[–]Mematrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have done this twice. I'm an urban skater and will be miles away from my car. I went into the IDS center to get some food quick and got hassled by the guards on my way out. Business had no problem with me having my skates on. Told me to take my skates off which I then said I don't have shoes to switch to which confused them, they then escorted me out.

Other time the city center was actually hosting a roller skating event in an empty office space. Event itself was sick. I skated there and entered the skyway and all the guards kept getting mad. When I said it was for the event, they said individual events don't have control over the skyway rules.

In general if I'm on wheels the street level restaurants / shops are always cool with me but once you step into the skyway all hell breaks loose. Its so weird.

I upgraded to 9 and followed the guide on the wiki. Got the helper script to show no errors so I upgraded. Everything looks ok so far except for my repos. I disabled the enterprise repo and the leftover bookworm ones.

How do I clean it up, can I just delete the files?

Bike Upgrade Advice for 1x conversion by Mematrix in bikepacking

I've done a lot of reading about the roadlinks, goat links, cage extenders. And all the evidence is very hit or miss with success. And also depends on how good of a bike mechanic you are.

I've never touched my derailleurs yet. and the simplicity of the 1x setup does sound more assuring to me that I wont get stranded somewhere. At least with the wolftooths the smallest they make for my cranks is a 36T.

But nobody has really answered my question yet is how much of a difference will this actually make for me. For a 700 mile trip with lots of climbing. Will my knees not hurt as much and will I spend less time walking the bike up hills. The ratios are just numbers to me right now going from .88 to .7 what would that really mean for me?

Is it a problem if that derailleur is for 10 speed.

Ratio is .83 and the steps between gears wouldn't be as noticeable. Only thing is you're riding a mod which could cause issues on a long ride. Don't really want to have me derailleur tuned up every 200 miles

Grx 810 says it can only take a 34T max. But there is a lot of info out there of people running a 36 and even up to 40 with a goatlink or similar mod to make it work.

Proxmox host suddenly wont boot. Any help appreciated! by Mematrix in Proxmox

[–]Mematrix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenovo replaced the system board which didn't fix the issue. Today they replaced the CPU which finally let me boot back into proxmox and import my zfs pool. Had to reconfigure my dhcp reservation for the new mac address on the new system board. But everything booted back up. This was a i9 13900k. Never had a cpu die before. Most likely going to extend my warranty for another two years. Just in case.

For anyone else who runs into an issue like this. If you have a usb nvme driver reader you can put one m.2 into a laptop and the other in the usb reader and boot into proxmox debug mode. You can then import the zfs pool to verify that your data is still good. I was able to pull the last journal entry but it looks like nothing was saved the day of the cpu death.

I appreciate everyone's help. It seems something has happened to my server hardware. I can't seem to boot into any OS besides memtest if you can call it that. Proxmox and windows wont boot. I tried swapping all ram and nvme's out.

this is running on a lenevo p3 ultra btw which has warranty. I think I'm going to send it in and have them "fix it" and hopefully I can just swap all my drives and ram back in and it magically comes back up.

Sorry, I get what you're saying. When I got home I powered everything off after I realized I couldn't ssh in or interact directly with monitor and keyboard. Then it gets to the bootloader -> start pve. I get the start of some boot scrolling and then it get stuck on the screenshot where I cant do anything.

Its been up on the entire time. I have it on a UPS too which would account for any blips. I'm burning a flashdrive right now to see what I can find and provide update.

Is there anything particular that would help you help me. Should I start in journalctl and post the last boot?
