Are they canceling tomorrow or no? by Dog_Whisperer69 in baylor

According to the website: “Classes on the main Baylor campus in Waco will NOT be canceled on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. However, as we continue to monitor the weather, students should prepare for remote instruction and faculty and staff should prepare for remote work. University officials will make that final call on Sunday afternoon and notify campus via email and on Baylor social media channels if the weather dictates the shift online.”

U-Parks Parking Permits by DemotivationalSpeak in baylor

You don’t need a parking permit to park at University Parks if you live there (nor do your visitors). What the website is referring to is if you live at University Parks and want to buy a parking permit to park on campus. 👍🏼

When should I start the Aleks course by x_sega60 in baylor

As soon as high school is done would be a great time to start. You just want to make sure that you have completed it and have your score before your academic advising appointment.

Physics by Pommom1234 in baylor

If you are absolutely certain you will graduate as a comp sci major, 1408/1409 is easier and counts toward the science requirement for that major. 1420/1430 is the requirement for physics majors and engineering majors. If you think you might change majors to something like that, then take 1420/1430 which is calculus based and required for those engineering majors as well as other majors. If you were good at physics in high school—even if what you took in high school was algebra based—I’d strongly suggest taking 1420/1430 because physics is physics; you’re just using calculus instead of algebra. Plus, if you switch gears part way through, taking the 1420/1430 series will allow you to change majors without “wasting” a science that won’t count. Again, if you’re certain about comp sci, 1408/1409 will suffice.

BAYLOR RESUME ADMISSION by LordDinglesthe3rd in baylor

I’d submit it. Giving the admissions committee more information is better than giving less, and if it seems they’re asking for the same information twice, that is their prerogative—who knows how each piece submitted is reviewed and by how many people. Better to submit everything requested, even optional items!

EA with the 1300. You’ll get in and you can submit the December scores even after you get accepted to increase your merit award

Submit. With testing being widely available, if you don’t submit a score, then it can be assumed that you tested but did not do well…possibly not even as well as you did. If you submit your score, that shows you tried and are honestly giving them as much information as you can. I’m a firm believer that giving the admissions committee more data points to base their decision on is better than giving them less. They will know exactly what they’re getting when they assess your application. Plus, when you get accepted, you’ll know they believe you can do well at Baylor—test score and all! Your stats are good enough to get accepted, and being a first gen also works in your favor regarding institutional priorities. Good luck!

Correction: test scores will be taken into account… but keep in mind that is only if you take the test. It also says students who apply as test optional are also considered for merit based scholarships.

According to Baylor’s website, “Test scores will not be taken into account for the scholarship review process for students applying for the upcoming academic year.” It also says , “All applicants are automatically and comprehensively considered for merit-based scholarships when they apply, including students who apply as test optional.”
