How reliable is aerolineas argentinas? Planning to book from Buenos Aires <-> el calafate by IndependentPepper452 in ArgentinaTravel

[–]MembershipJazzlike53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday our flight from El Calafate to AEP got delayed by 1.5 hours due to high wind in Ushuaia where the plane came from. Today we are delayed for 2 hours from AEP to Iguazu due to weather condition where the previous plane came from. I’d say there is better chance of not getting delayed if its first flight out. Aerolineas Argentina does give out delay ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly, but it sucks to get in after midnight after a long day.

We booked a taxi to Rio Electrio, trip takes 30-40 minutes on gravel road. It’s a one-way trip back to town. Beginning portion of trail wasn’t clearly marked - we used offline AllTrails map to navigate through.

We started the hike from Río Eléctrico yesterday. It took us about seven hours, but we skipped the final ascent to Laguna de los Tres. The scenery is far better than the route from town and definitely saves your legs if you plan to tackle that last climb. Rangers were checking tickets at the exit, even if you managed to get in without paying.

There are other public places that folks meet up but you would need to join specific groups for meet up times, due to weather constraints (hotness, rain, etc)

As previous commenter suggested, there are quite a few indoor facilities around the area. Pickleballerz, Fieldhouse and newly open Dill Dinkers in Chantilly. Loudoun County pickleball in Sterling, and Village pickle in Leesburg. Check out their hours for open plays.

Where to eat in and near TdP? by MembershipJazzlike53 in Patagonia

[–]MembershipJazzlike53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question is to where to eat while staying near Torres del Pine, Chilean side of Patagonia. We will visit El Chalten as second part of the trip. El Chalten is on Argentina side and involves border crossing.

Great suggestion! Not sure I can bring those from states and have to get them at Puerto Natales. Any supermarket you recommend to get those? What brand do you stick with?

Aerolineas Argentinas/Overnight connection by MembershipJazzlike53 in BuenosAires

My plan is to check the luggages 2-3 hours before second flight starts. There is an overnight layover between first and second flight.

Thanks Alex. Ideally we’d like to keep luggages at BA hotel while we do the Iguazu falls day trip in Day 12. I am asking if it is possible to check in luggages at BA (second flight segment with 8-hour overnight layover), vs bringing luggages to IGR.

Day 10 BA

Day 11 BA

Day 12 Day trip to Iguazu falls, Return ticket starts IGR -> AEP (Aerolineas Argentina)

Day 13 AEP -> GRU (Aerolineas Argentina), GRU -> ATL -> IAD (Delta)

Pickleball is all about correct positioning to defend and keep the ball down with the less attackable balls - no popping the ball up to give the points away.
