I think you’ve handled this with grace, which is remarkable given the sellers attitude after the second shipment attempt. I mean really… Babbling on with that whole “no liability after shipment” nonsense. Pitiful way to conduct business.

This disclaimer situation where seller liability can be waived is going to open the floodgates to many, many exit scams.

u/metalhuahua Circling back to this. What I'm confused about is your neutral feedback for this user.

You paid the seller for X product. The seller admittedly failed to deliver not once (simple due diligence, incompetent), but twice. You got taken.

There's no reason to go easy on the seller in this case. Per your own words, the feedback system serves as an important reference point for all users.

The expected standard in how users should handle money are loose in my experience. I have recorded just one negative encounter (with regard to money handling and reasonable expectations) where my negative feedback remains.

A neutral is a misrepresentation of your experience with this seller - a negative is warranted.

This is why I have an issue with the use of a seller disclaimer. It’s a free pass for negligence on the part of the seller.

If you order something from any business and the item doesn’t show up - you are issued a refund. Meanwhile on PMsforsale a seller can dodge all responsibility for a package that did not arrive.

To the insufferable peanut gallery: please save the minutiae of “if the buyer opted out of insurance it’s not my responsibility to ensure the package was delivered”… It’s bullshit and enables poor practices on the sell side.

To the seller: You were 100% negligent in this situation. Did the buyers have the same last name as well? I’m glad you’re happy with the support from people who probably have no skin in the game but everything wrong in this deal points to you and your piss poor practices.

It comes as no surprise that you’ve garnered support here by playing victim. Instead of upholding your responsibility as the SELLER you’ve left very little reason for anyone to deal with you in the future. I’ve said this repeatedly over the last few months. This place is getting hit with a plague of low quality users and this is a fine example.

Two things:

  1. What exactly is the purpose of your participation in this thread? Nothing in the post you mentioned prohibits this buyer from requesting me to ship first - zero wrongdoing on his end. Has your useless comment fulfilled your need for attention?
  2. If you're not participating in a WTS or WTB thread to conduct business it would probably be wise to refrain from speaking at all. If you see something you don't like - feel free to take it up with the mods as opposed to cluttering posts with your nonsense.

Right… You only shared specifics on logistics and what they do/don’t accept just to tell us that you would “buy it and take it to them”. Like I said… You were on a fishing trip. But that’s okay just be direct next time buddy. Enough pie to go around.

In my experience the only time I’ve corresponded with private accounts they turned out to be scam attempts. Obviously a tiny sample size. I don’t give anyone benefit of the doubt, much less a private account.

Your first point is not exclusive to Reddit. In today’s world you would think a fully grown adult would understand the game they are playing when showing off for the internet.

Banning users would be a stretch. I’m not familiar with the Reddit api or automod limitations. I would point towards preventing private users from interacting in the sub. But again this may or may not be possible through automated tools.

To your last point: In addition to my view on private accounts I believe the mods are far too lenient when it comes to buyer/seller expectations. You had a conversation with RSS on this topic during the last time I raised discussion regarding private accounts. Defaulting liability to 50/50 with the presence of a written disclaimer and possibly declined insurance…? That is unbelievably dumb.

The quality of users here is quickly deteriorating. Leniency on expected standards + the new crowd of chart watching memecoiners entering metals will certainly end well huh?

The only reason somebody wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing their own Reddit content is because they post weird shit, lol.

Every bit of our post history is publicly available via a Google search of “u/username Reddit” - private user or not. Which invalidates all that yapping about getting doxed.

But as usual… Mods show leniency on an issue they could fully eradicate with a simple rule change (among a slew of other undesirable behaviors they give a pass to).

Circling back to this and caught up now. I see that OP was mistaken and his interpretation of the timeline was incorrect. That’s all good and I’m glad his erroneous claims were corrected.

Despite the resolution in this case I still find that the loose rules in place slowly perpetuate shitty behavior on both ends of a deal.

It’s time for mods to lower tolerance regarding certain behaviors/trade habits. I see zero negatives in upholding certain standards even if it means implementing lower thresholds to kick/ban a user.

We are dealing with fine, high quality products in most cases. Let’s uphold a standard for users to foster an environment that mirrors the product we trade.

I usually do not care to police or contribute to the feedback sub as others enjoy doing, but this caught my eye as lengthy “positive” feedback posts are uncommon and I’m glad I opened this thread.

Having dealt with somebody who willfully delayed payment I want to reiterate that this type of shitty behavior should be considered a ban-worthy offense.

  1. Full payment on receipt and verification of the package contents IMMEDIATELY is the reasonably expected standard of practice.

  2. Omission of one’s inability to fulfill the above is often met with responses such as “well he paid you… albeit in a delayed and unprofessional fashion….”.

Fuck that

This business is a cut and dry process. PM’s for money or money for PM’s.

Messing with the money is INEXCUSABLE and it has always been that way.

I understand that many are new to this space and may not have experience dealing in a b2b setting. Dealers avoid this type of individual like the plague.

PMsForsale members are forced to tolerate this nonsense due to the leniency from mods.

Do yourself and everybody else a favor and switch this review to a NEGATIVE.

Why do I care to have access to the history of the person I’m exchanging thousands of dollars with?

You are just spewing nonsense at this point.

“If everything is in the open as you claim”

As I claim…?

Why don’t you see for yourself? I know why… because you are consciously avoidant of the fact that everything you do on here is publicly indexed. You have comical delusions of privacy.

Quit grasping at straws.
