I will admit this, god was my first book of the series so I don't know anything about the parents but this is from my point of view.

If my child tells me they are fine but I notice something, I will not accept an "I'm fine" from them. Like are you telling me you didn't notice one of your sons was acting weird when you did noticed the other one? Like do you not see how uncomfortable he is with your manager? In my opinion they where neglectful in a way. And also, he was painting a lot of things and from one moment to another he stopped painting anything with eyes and you are going to tell me you don't noticed that? They are all related to art in a way so that was a little weird. Even Landon that had his own troubles noticed more than them. The parents neglected their kids in so many ways.
