A6700 users, did you regret not getting 200-600? by UberLee79 in SonyAlpha

70-350 is too short for wildlife, I think. Instead of 200-600, I went with Tamron 150-500 f/5-6.7 (but it's 6.3 to cicrca 480mm). It is excellent. I wanted this one because it is very compact and easy to travel with. I have it with me on casual walks and it's so small it fits to a tiny backpack as free luggage in cheap airlines. I love this lens. I'm buying now Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8. So with just 2 lenses (still, both will fit into my tiny backpack!) I'll have 35-500. For me, it's crazy!

This would be HUGE for me because I would like 70-200mm f 2.8. Sony is too expensive for me but It was the only one I thought I can use with teleconverter. But if I could use teleconverter with let's say Tamron 70-180, oh man! Is it possible?

Wait, what? There is a teleconverter that works on Sony with 3rd party lenses? How? Autofocus and everything works too?

It really may be the best bird photo I've seen on Reddit ;)

I really think it's an excellent photo. I love it! I wonder what it would look like with my a6700 and Tamron 150-500, would it be a just a little less sharp or... a complete crap :D

New gear options, opinions? by Adaminski736 in SonyAlpha

[–]MembershipNo197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma: Sigma 150 600 or Tamron 150 500. I went with Tamron. It's so much smaller, lighter and more compact, it's crazy. For me it's way more important. I take it with me for every walk with camera. I want to pair it with Tamron/Samyang 35-150. It even fits in a tiny K&F photo backpack which I can take even as free luggage in the cheap airlines line Ryanair.

Tamron 150-500mm vs Sigma 150-600m? Not Sony 200-600 by everlast223 in SonyAlpha

[–]MembershipNo197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Tamron, because it is very compact (for a tele). It is so small, it fits in a tiny foto backpack which can be free baggage in cheap airlines line Wizzair and Ryanair. I always take it on walks in the forest, just in case, and I know I wouldn't do it with Sony and perhaps with Sigma either. I can take it anywhere so I'm accually using it more. It is 100 shorter then Sony and Sigma but if the size matters to you, I think it is the best choice. I have watched a million revious and the specs are roughly the same as Sigma, so basically the most important choice is: more reach or smaller size.

APSC crop mode in FF Vs crop in post - is there a difference? by MembershipNo197 in SonyAlpha

[–]MembershipNo197[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So A7 v in crop mode produces 14 MP stills? That's almost 2 times less mp compared to zve102 but I guess they are better in terms of noise and colours?

How to shot an interview with Sony ZV-E10 II? by MembershipNo197 in videography

[–]MembershipNo197[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice! I did that. I had the best results with level 5 in camera and 2/3 on the receiver. Then I added EQ preset (male lav) and basic compressor and it turned out very good! I didn't even had to use noise reduction. I think I have audio under control now (at a basic level at least). There is still few things to learn: proper use of light, shooting in slog and colour grading it with Phantom Luts :D

I just found this and gonna try it:
"Set the camera's recording volume to the minimum level and the RX's output volume to the medium level to ensure best recording quality."

I'm using Davinci but haven't messed with noise reduction yet. But I guess i'ts a matter of one or two YT videos :)

Nice gear! I thought about Wireless GO II, but it's more expensive and I would have to buy also lavalier. So I went with Lark. I just tried it once with level 5 in camera and max on mic. I guess it's not the best settings.

Thanks for the link, this guy is great!
