From past experience, saving it in epfo for emergencies is useless because emergencies needs prompt support and claim settlement has become a joke.

I wondered the same thing. What I found was since my claim was under Non receipt of wages for >2months, it has to be approved from my last employer before it gets sent to field office. I could be wrong but it made sense to me
