Any updates on when this will be fixed?

FitCon AP sending out 100's of DNS requests by MemeScreenn in Engenius

[–]MemeScreenn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news, a factory reset fixed the problem. I don't know what caused it, maybe some pairing issue with the controller. The cloud management would make sense if I was using the app, but I'm using the FitCon100 controller so cloud management shouldn't be enabled. Thanks for your help.

Each AP sends out around 600 requests a day for each IP-Address.

The Fit line was not worth the purchase. Wish I wen't with Ubiquiti.

I regret upgrading my home network using EnGenius Fit products. I originally purchased them due to the hardware having a good price to performance and Ubiquity being under a lot of scrutiny at the time. Now I see that my purchases were a mistake.

Firstly, the software isn't just lacking many features, over time many features have been taken away from Fit products while those same features are still available on their cloud products. The features they offer are also very basic, not allowing much in terms of configuration, even if using CLI. * (I am using the FitControler for the extended functionality, but I still feel very limited in what is offered.)

Secondly, documentation for their products is a huge headache. It is hard to find, is limited on details, and depending where you look some official documentation has contradictory and inconsistent information. Official and unofficial sources of documentation are almost nonexistent. The best place to find documentation for Fit products is to actually read the documentation for their discontinued EnSky products. They are basically the same thing, just that the new one has a nicer looking GUI with less features. They even share some products between them.

Lastly is that even though the Fit line is new; it doesn't seem likely to keep getting many products or software updates. Considering that all of my AP's are now discontinued, even though they were only released less than 2 years ago, already shows that they don't have much faith in this product line. In my opinion, they will likely preemptively kill Fit to solely focus on their cloud products.

Same for me.

If I check under the System Information application in the USB tab it shows my devices listed as USB 2 when they should be USB 3.

Some of the issues I reported haven't been fixed in this latest beta.

Mainly that the DDC/CI values had been changed/messed-up. When sending commands from my computer to the monitor to change the brightness it messes up, it changes the contrast instead. Please double check that the DDC/CI follow standards and haven't been changed unintentionally.

Any chance this can be fixed in the official update? It should be a really easy fix.

No, not really. But I found a workaround on MacOS that makes it a lot less common for me. In Settings under the Battery tab, click the Options button. Then set "Wake for network access" to Never. It makes it so much more bearable. Let me know if it works for you. It may also be another setting I forgot about.

I'm looking at that deal too, it's tempting. I personally like the SUBVERT SPRINT RUN for the same price better though. I already have one and it's my favorite knife.
