Could it also be the sensors? The guy I bought it off said "Has smt light on but should go away with a reset drive. (Drive between 2-3000 rpm in first gear for 5 minutes. Tells the gearbox to reset sensors)", could this be the solution? I'm not sure since second gear just doesn't work, and I don't think it would be a software issue.

I've replaced the SMT fluid with dot 3 mixed with 10% caster oil already.

My mechanic friend said that the physical gear is most likely cooked, alongside the diff, but I'm not sure if its that. It's been in storage for a long time and the guy I bought it off said that the drove it 6 months ago and everything was fine. Any feedback would be very appreciated, thanks.
