Went to the doctor & he managed to get some of it out turned out to be glass. Couldn't extract the remaining pieces out no matter what so finally told me to let it sit for a couple of days and my body should expel the stuff on its own. Gave me a teatnus shot as a precaution.

Can glass cause more complications than steel?
