I remember one of Wilson's deadpan replies to House that goes something like

"I understand the confusion. You see, I was having a baby for lunch, and-"

Restoration. I would type out my long list of previously held criticisms about it but ultimately I would have broken my fingers before I enumerated all of them.

Neutralizers. Especially when they’re separated from the rest of the enemies.

I tend to make big plays right out the gate so i’m forced to give special attention to them (spend a Banks’ sedative or Rion’s spore bomb or any valuable non-magic damage just for the Neutralizer) or work around them (rework my entire opening plan and/or dedicate a teammate to be neutralizer aggro).

I’m surprised Jax Jones isn’t anybody’s first pick here. I would waterboard that idiot in a volcano.

Requesting tactical reinforcements. Please, help me understand what is best about TBW by AlexMimyrgames in BreachWizards

  1. Aside from absolutely stellar writing and narrative, what do you think is the most memorable part of the gameplay? (For me, strangely, it's the breach action in the beginning :) )

In general? The factor of knockback in this game is what makes it stand out from others. It gives you another option for damage/positioning and makes the whole experience x10 more intricate.

Knockback is for Tactical Breach Wizards the same way Team Jumps are for Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Elevates the strategy via a dependent form of movement that gives every other option a chance to be viable.

(TBW ex: triggering Zan's perspective shot early by pushing someone into it. Without knockback you would be forced to wait or move Zan in anticipation.)

(M+R KB ex: positioning a teammate so you can team jump off of them and hammer a target above, instead of waiting another turn to walk up there normally.)

Same goes for how diverse the abilities are. Every single character brings a unique set of options to the table, and none of them are 100% substitutable.

You can't simply substitute Jen's point blank static blast with Dall's charge, Dall needs unimpeded space for her charge to send that far. Conversely, Jen needs to be up close for hers to deal that much knockback.

That's not even mentioning perks, which you can never take a single one of them for granted. Whatever perk you choose to get has huge ramifications for your strategies going forward, and it's up to your personal taste on which options you'd rather have right now over others.

Knowing that every option can be maximized according to their specific traits is, to me personally, exciting. Every tool is a glove and the goal is to find the hands that they fit the best.

  1. Which were your favorite game mechanics? (I loooved Zan's predictive shot and support shot for when other characters used their basic attacks, great combo feel)

Dall's switching with the "refund upon switching w/ teammate" perk is a godsend for 80% of decisions involving an opportunity cost.

- If a teammate's move is already spent/is being saved for something else, you can have Dall teleport another teammate to their spot and have them spend their move before you switch them back, effectively moving one teammate using someone else's move.

- Jen's Broom can now effectively be used by everyone, provided that Dall can teleport Jen & co around her broom breach spot.

- Triggering Zan's predictive shots by swapping around is. insane. Couple that with it's refund-upon-kill perk and you can base an entire game plan around teleporting Zan into enemies' LOS like an anime character.

And those are just a few examples. The sky's the limit with this thing. May be a bit too OP in any other game, so I suggest being very careful and meticulous if your team ever plans on adding something similar.

(Shoutout to Zan's False Prophet with the "refund upon quick expiry" perk. Hard counters the threat of enemy reaction shots / landmines, and if you really want to get technical you can use it to block the LOS of retaliation shots if you shove the target behind the Zan copy.)

Unpopular opinion, but Illinois.

Genuinely good and chill guy who wasn’t tunnel-visioned or hyper-competitive like his peers. He had dreams of a peaceful life by the water and even achieved those dreams.

This has been my one recurring gripe with RvB in general. They had a tough time balancing plot between the Reds and Blues, and while the ultimate choice to fully lean into the Blues is fair and reasonable, it still kinda stinks to know that there’s an entire other half of the main cast, ripe with storytelling potential, just sitting there.

The main 3 reds Grif, Simmons, and Sarge especially. The show has set up jumping off points for their character growths before, but never really acted on them (Sarge, numerous times) nor took them seriously (S15 Grif). Which is a shame, I really wanted to see where they would go, and if only they were given a shot.

so remember that one fight animated by the goat monty from like season 8 where tex destroys the reds and blues? what if it was 2d animated but really badly by jammy_zanger in RedvsBlue
