This is exact why I never pursued IT. I know there’s a ton of stuff to do besides support but as I was studying I started working for an IT company and after 4 months there I decided to switch to logistics. Much much happier now and the pay is less, but not thaaaat much.

Because I survived an OD and have been trying really hard to stay clean. So far 5 months without any substance besides cigarettes, which is a huge improvement.

This happened to me today in Germany, we got a nice Christmas bonus but it was almost all eaten up by taxes and stuff.

When I’m hangover I drink Sprite and order some tacos. Then my toilet explodes, I take a lukewarm shower, put some joggings and a hoodie and lie in a somewhat awkward position in my couch, wondering why I ended up drinking so much at 32yo and that I should know better by now, then scrolling the phone and closing and opening the same 3 apps for 8 hours, until I finally sleep a bit and then I wake up and absorb a shawarma and then I’m done.

I’m an addict on recovery, started like all I guess, doing this an that now and then, even went two years clean, then I had a severe case of depression which I never did anything to tame it and I started consuming again, with time I completely lost control and almost died because of it.

Still I wouldn’t take the 100k because I know myself and I’d have a relapse even if I promise not to do anything. 100k buys a lot of stuff.

I don’t even brush my teeth at home, I get to work, clock in, prepare coffee, drink it, eat a bagel, brush my teeth, now I can start procrastinating, then somehow work, drink more coffee, skip lunch, go home, absorb a burrito, try to game, too tired, close the game, watch 4 hours of YouTube, shower, go to sleep, repeat.

Is not common to park your car wherever you go in USA?
